Abstract
The present invention relates to a powdered composition comprising: (a) At least one effect pigment capable of producing different colors depending on the angle of incidence of light and the angle of observation, wherein the effect pigment comprises light transmissive platelets, titanium dioxide, and a colorant, and exhibits an interference color selected from pink, red, orange, yellow, and gold in an amount of 10-50 wt% relative to the total weight of the composition; and (b) at least one white pigment in an amount of 0.5 to 15% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition.
Description
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a powdery composition for make-up for keratin materials (for example the skin) comprising a flop pigment and a white pigment, and to a cosmetic process using this composition.
Background
Cosmetic powder compositions for keratin materials are used as make-up cosmetics such as foundation powders (foundation powders) and make-up powders. These compositions are used to provide an attractive appearance to keratin materials. Thus, for cosmetic powder compositions to act as make-up cosmetics, aesthetic effects on keratin materials (preferably skin, especially facial skin) such as providing natural finish (natural finish) effects, stereoscopic appearance effects and good hiding are very important. In order to impart such aesthetic effects to cosmetic powder compositions, it has been proposed to use effect pigments (goniochromatic pigment) in the compositions.
For example, JP-A-H11-322541 discloses a cosmetic composition comprising: a cosmetically acceptable medium; at least one first colorant; and at least one second colorant; wherein the first colorant is a flop colorant capable of producing different colors depending on the angle of incidence of light and the angle of observation, the flop colorant is a multilayer interference structure, and the second colorant is a single color colorant producing one of the colors of the flop colorant.
In addition, US-B-5,008,143 discloses a flop pigment exhibiting a polychromatic effect, consisting essentially of a transparent body, an interference pigment and an absorbing colorant, wherein the absorbing colorant has a color different from the reflected color of the interference pigment or its complement, and wherein the interference pigment and the absorbing colorant have color intensities of the same order of magnitude.
However, there is still a need for cosmetic powder products with improved cosmetic effect. In particular, there is a need for cosmetic powder products that provide aesthetic effects to keratin materials (preferably skin, especially facial skin), such as providing natural finish, a three-dimensional appearance, and good coverage.
Disclosure of Invention
It is an object of the present invention to provide a powdery composition for make-up applications which can provide improved aesthetic effects to keratin materials, preferably skin, especially facial skin, such as providing natural finish, stereoscopic appearance and adequate coverage.
The above object of the present invention is achieved by a powdery composition comprising:
(a) At least one effect pigment capable of producing different colors depending on the angle of incidence of light and the angle of observation, wherein the effect pigment comprises light transmissive platelets, titanium dioxide, and a colorant, and exhibits an interference color selected from pink, red, orange, yellow, and gold in an amount of 10-50 wt% relative to the total weight of the composition; and
(b) At least one white pigment in an amount of 0.5 to 15% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition.
(a) The colorant in the effect pigment may be selected from iron oxides (e.g., fe 2 O 3 ) Carmine and iron ferricyanide, and is preferably selected from the group consisting of Fe 2 O 3 And carmine.
(a) The light transmitting platelets in the effect pigments may consist of mica (e.g. natural mica, synthetic mica) or glass, and preferably consist of mica.
(a) The interference color of the effect pigment may be selected from pink, red, orange, and yellow.
(a) The content of light-transmitting platelets in the effect pigment may be in the range of 20-85 wt%, preferably 30-75 wt%, and more preferably 40-70 wt%, relative to the total weight of the effect pigment.
(a) The content of titanium dioxide in the effect pigment may be in the range of 10 to 70 wt%, preferably 20 to 60 wt%, and more preferably 30 to 55 wt%, relative to the total weight of the effect pigment.
(a) The content of the colorant in the effect pigment may be in the range of 0.5 to 15 wt%, preferably 1 to 10 wt%, and more preferably 2 to 7 wt%, relative to the total weight of the effect pigment.
(b) The white pigment may be selected from metal oxides such as titanium dioxide, zirconium dioxide, cerium dioxide, zinc oxide; boron nitride; barium sulfate; and coated pigments such as coated mica, coated sericite, coated fluorophlogopite, coated kaolin; and mixtures thereof.
(b) The white pigment may comprise a combination of two different white pigments.
(b) The white pigment may comprise or consist of a combination of titanium dioxide and titanium dioxide coated pigment.
(a) The amount of effect pigment may be in the range of 15 to 40 wt%, and preferably 20 to 35 wt%, relative to the total weight of the composition.
(b) The amount of white pigment may be in the range of 1-12 wt%, preferably 3-10 wt%, relative to the total weight of the composition.
In a preferred aspect of the invention, the composition is used as a cosmetic powder composition, preferably a make-up powder, such as foundation powder, make-up powder or face powder (facepowder); a body color cosmetic product; blush; or eye shadows, especially foundation powders or make-up powders.
The composition according to the invention may be anhydrous or contain less than 3% by weight of water, preferably less than 1% by weight of water, relative to the total weight of the composition.
The invention also relates to a cosmetic process for making up keratin materials, preferably the skin, comprising a step of applying to the keratin materials a composition according to the invention.
Best Mode for Carrying Out The Invention
After diligent research, the inventors have surprisingly found that a combination of (a) a specific effect pigment in an amount of 10-50 wt% relative to the total weight of the composition and (b) a white pigment in an amount of 0.5-15 wt% relative to the total weight of the composition can provide improved three-dimensional appearance and natural finish to keratin materials, especially the face, without metallic appearance, while maintaining good coverage to cover skin imperfections such as blemishes, wrinkles and (hair) holes, whereby they have completed the present invention.
Thus, the powdered composition according to the invention comprises:
(a) At least one effect pigment capable of producing different colors depending on the angle of incidence of light and the angle of observation, wherein the effect pigment comprises light transmissive platelets, titanium dioxide, and a colorant, and exhibits an interference color selected from pink, red, orange, yellow, and gold in an amount of 10-50 wt% relative to the total weight of the composition; and
(b) At least one white pigment in an amount of 0.5 to 15% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition.
Hereinafter, the composition according to the present invention will be described in detail.

The powdery composition according to the invention comprises (a) at least one effect pigment capable of producing different colors depending on the angle of incidence of light and the angle of observation, wherein the effect pigment comprises light-transmitting platelets, titanium dioxide and a colorant and exhibits an interference color selected from pink, red, orange, yellow and gold in an amount of 10 to 50% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition; and (b) at least one white pigment in an amount of 0.5 to 15% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition.
(effect pigment)
The composition according to the invention comprises (a) at least one effect pigment. Two or more (a) effect pigments may be used in combination. Thus, a single type of effect pigment or a combination of different types of effect pigments may be used.
The term "pigment" is understood herein to mean white or colored inorganic or organic particles in a medium insoluble in the composition.
The term "flop pigment" is understood herein to mean a pigment that exhibits flop properties that produce different colors depending on the angle of incidence of the light and the angle of observation. Thus, (a) effect pigments are capable of producing different colors depending on the angle of incidence of light and the angle of observation.
Effect pigments typically have an interference multilayer structure consisting of light transmissive platelets and a coating of interference pigment on the platelets. The multiple layers may make it possible to allow variations in color, hue and brightness to be produced by interference of light that is diffracted and diffused differently from layer to layer. In addition, the effect pigment may include at least one absorbing colorant in the coating. In this case, the effect pigments may exhibit two different colors: an "absorption color" that can result from the absorption of the colorant and a "reflected color" that can result from reflection from the interference pigment, depending on the angle of observation. At normal viewing angles, the reflected color of the interference pigment is seen. At the diffusion or glancing angle, the reflected color of the interference pigment is no longer observed, and the absorption color is now seen. Therefore, by changing the angle of observation from the normal angle to the glancing angle, the reflected color of the color by interference (pigment generation) becomes the absorption color by the absorption pigment (generation).
The effect pigment of (a) of the present invention comprises light transmitting platelets, titanium dioxide as an interference pigment and a colorant as an absorption pigment.
The material of the light-transmitting tab is not limited as long as it is light-transmitting. Examples of the material of the light-transmitting platelets include mica (e.g., natural mica and synthetic mica) and glass. Preferably, the light transmissive platelets of the effect pigments are made of mica (e.g., natural mica and synthetic mica).
In one embodiment of the present invention, the titanium dioxide interference pigment coating on the light transmissive platelet of the (a) effect pigment may have a thickness in the range of 10-300nm, preferably 20-200nm, and more preferably 30-150 nm.
Examples of colorants include, but are not limited to, iron oxides (e.g., fe 2 O 3 ) Carmine, iron ferricyanide Fe 4 [Fe(CN) 6 ] 3 And mixtures thereof. Preferably, the colorant in the effect pigment is selected from the group consisting of Fe 2 O 3 And carmine. "colorant" herein excludes titanium dioxide used as an interference pigment in the (a) effect pigments of the present invention.
The optically variable pigment (a) of the present invention exhibits a reflective color selected from pink, red, orange, yellow and gold. Preferably, the reflective color is selected from pink, red, orange and yellow. (a) The absorption color of the effect pigment is not particularly limited, but is preferably selected from gold, red, orange, yellow, and blue, more preferably selected from gold, orange, and yellow.
(a) The effect pigment may have an average particle size of 0.5 μm or more, preferably 1 μm or more, and more preferably 5 μm or more. (a) The effect pigments may have an average particle size of 200 μm or less, preferably 150 μm or less, and more preferably 100 μm or less, and especially 50 μm or less. The term "average particle size" as used herein represents the number average size average diameter (referred to as D50) given by the median statistical particle size distribution for the population. For example, the number average size average diameter may be measured by a laser diffraction particle size distribution analyzer (e.g., a Mastersizer from Malvern corp.).
(a) The content of the light-transmitting platelets in the effect pigment is not limited, but may be 20 wt% or more, preferably 30 wt% or more, and more preferably 40 wt% or more with respect to the total weight of the effect pigment. (a) The upper limit of the content of the light-transmitting platelets in the effect pigment is not limited, but may be 85% by weight or less, preferably 75% by weight or less, and more preferably 70% by weight or less with respect to the total weight of the effect pigment.
Thus, the content of light transmitting platelets in the (a) effect pigment may be in the range of 20 to 85 wt%, preferably 30 to 75 wt%, and more preferably 40 to 70 wt%, relative to the total weight of the effect pigment.
(a) The content of titanium dioxide in the effect pigment is not limited, but may be 10% by weight or more, preferably 20% by weight or more, and more preferably 30% by weight or more with respect to the total weight of the effect pigment. (a) The upper limit of the content of titanium dioxide in the effect pigment is not limited, but may be 70% by weight or less, preferably 60% by weight or less, and more preferably 55% by weight or less with respect to the total weight of the effect pigment.
Thus, the content of titanium dioxide in the (a) effect pigment may be in the range of from 10 to 70 wt%, preferably from 20 to 60 wt%, and more preferably from 30 to 55 wt%, relative to the total weight of the effect pigment.
(a) The content of the colorant in the effect pigment is not limited, but may be 0.5% by weight or more, preferably 1% by weight or more, and more preferably 2% by weight or more with respect to the total weight of the effect pigment. (a) The upper limit of the content of the colorant in the effect pigment is not limited, but may be 15% by weight or less, preferably 10% by weight or less, and more preferably 7% by weight or less with respect to the total weight of the effect pigment.
Thus, the content of the colorant in the (a) effect pigment may be in the range of 0.5 to 15 wt%, preferably 1 to 10 wt%, and more preferably 2 to 7 wt%, relative to the total weight of the effect pigment.
The content of (a) effect pigments in the composition according to the invention is from 10 to 50% by weight, relative to the total weight of the composition. Preferably, the amount of (a) flop pigment in the composition is 15 wt% or more, and more preferably 20 wt% or more, relative to the total weight of the composition. Preferably, the amount of (a) flop pigment in the composition is 40 wt% or less, and more preferably 35 wt% or less, relative to the total weight of the composition. The content of (a) effect pigments in the composition according to the invention may therefore preferably be from 15 to 40% by weight, and more preferably from 20 to 35% by weight, relative to the total weight of the composition.
(white pigment)
The composition according to the invention comprises (b) at least one white pigment. Two or more kinds of (b) white pigments may be used in combination. Thus, a single type of white pigment or a combination of different types of white pigments may be used.
The (b) white pigment used in the composition according to the present invention may represent inorganic particles or organic particles, which are white, coated or uncoated, spherical or non-spherical, and porous or non-porous.
(b) The white pigment may be selected from, but is not limited to, metal oxides such as titanium dioxide, zirconium dioxide, cerium dioxide, zinc oxide; boron nitride; barium sulfate; and coated pigments such as coated mica, coated sericite, coated fluorophlogopite, coated kaolin; and mixtures thereof. The coating layers of the pigments are not particularly limited as long as they exhibit white color, but may be metal oxides such as titanium dioxide, tin oxide, and the like.
Preferably, (b) the white pigment is selected from the group consisting of metal oxides, boron nitride and metal oxide coated pigments. In particular, (b) the white pigment is selected from titanium dioxide; boron nitride; and titanium dioxide-coated pigments such as titanium dioxide-coated mica and titanium dioxide-coated fluorophlogopite.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, (b) the white pigment comprises a combination of at least two different white pigments. In particular, (b) the white pigment comprises or consists of a combination of at least one metal oxide and at least one metal oxide coated pigment. In particular, (b) the white pigment comprises or consists of a combination of at least one titanium dioxide and at least one titanium dioxide coated pigment. In these embodiments, a metal oxide coated pigment may be included in an amount greater than the amount of metal oxide.
In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, (b) the white pigment has a refractive index of 1.6 or more, preferably 2.0 or more, and more preferably 2.3 or more.
(b) The average particle size of the white pigment is not particularly limited, but may be in the range of 0.01 μm to 50 μm, and preferably 0.05 μm to 30 μm. The average particle size of the uncoated pigment (e.g., metal oxides, boron nitride, and barium sulfate) can be in the range of 0.05 μm to 0.5 μm, and preferably 0.1 μm to 0.3 μm. The average particle size of the coated pigment may be in the range of 1 μm to 50 μm, preferably 10 μm to 30 μm.
Examples of commercially available (b) white pigments include:
-Timica terra by BASF under the name Timica terraTitanium dioxide coated mica is sold;
-Ronafatir by Merck under the nameAnd TRES by Saint-Gobain under the name TRES->Cosmetic Powder Grade PUHP3002 boron nitride; and
syncystal Soft by Eckart under the name Syncystal SoftSynthetic fluorophlogopite coated with titanium dioxide and tin oxide is sold.
The content of (b) white pigment in the composition according to the invention is 0.5 to 15% by weight, relative to the total weight of the composition. Preferably, the content of (b) white pigment in the composition is 1% by weight or more, and more preferably 3% by weight or more, relative to the total weight of the composition. Preferably, the content of (b) white pigment in the composition is 12 wt% or less, and more preferably 10 wt% or less, relative to the total weight of the composition. The content of (b) white pigment in the composition according to the invention may therefore preferably be from 1 to 12% by weight, and more preferably from 3 to 10% by weight, relative to the total weight of the composition.
(other Components)
-a filler
The composition according to the invention may preferably comprise at least one filler. Preferably, the composition according to the invention may comprise, in addition to (a) the effect pigment and (b) the white pigment, one or more organic fillers and/or inorganic fillers.
The term "filler" is understood to mean any shaped inorganic or synthetic particle that is insoluble in the medium of the composition.
Regardless of the crystal form (e.g., platelet, cube, hexagonal, rhombohedral, etc.), the filler can be of any shape: platelet, spherical or elliptical.
As inorganic fillers there may be mentioned talc, mica, silica, aluminum magnesium silicate, trimethylsiloxysilicate, kaolin, bentonite (bentone), calcium carbonate, magnesium bicarbonate, hydroxyapatite, fluorophlogopite, sericite, calcined talc, calcined mica, calcined sericite, synthetic mica, lauroyl lysine, metallic soaps, bismuth oxychloride, barium sulfate, magnesium carbonate, and mixtures thereof, optionally subjected to hydrophilic treatment or hydrophobic treatment.
As organic filler there may be mentioned (meth) acrylic or (meth) acrylate powders, for example polymethyl methacrylate powder; polyacrylonitrile powder; an organopolysiloxane powder; polyamide powder; poly-beta-alanine powder and polyethylene powder; polytetrafluoroethylene powder; lauroyl lysine; rice starch or maize starch, such as maize starch: INCI name: corn (ZeaMays/Corn) starch; tetrafluoroethylene polymer powder; hollow polymeric microspheres, for example comprising (alkyl) acrylates; metal soaps derived from organic carboxylic acids containing 8 to 22 carbon atoms, such as zinc stearate, magnesium stearate, lithium stearate, zinc laurate, magnesium myristate; silicone powders such as silicone resin powder, polyorganosilsesquioxane powder, vinyl polydimethylsiloxane/polymethylsilsesquioxane cross-linked polymer powder, and polymethylsilsesquioxane powder; polyurethane powder; carnauba micro wax; synthesizing micro wax; and mixtures thereof.
The filler may be present in an amount ranging from 1 to 80 wt%, preferably from 10 to 60 wt% and more preferably from 20 to 50 wt%, relative to the total weight of the composition.
-a colorant
The composition according to the invention may preferably comprise one or more colorants, which may be selected from pigments different from (a) the effect pigment and (b) the white pigment, such as inorganic pigments, lakes and mother-of-pearl. In particular, the composition comprises, in addition to (a) the effect pigment and (b) the white pigment, mother-of-pearl as a colorant.
The inorganic pigment different from (a) the effect pigment and (b) the white pigment may be selected from, for example, iron oxide, manganese violet, prussian blue, ultramarine blue and iron blue, and mixtures thereof.
Lakes, also known as organic pigments, may be selected from cochineal, azo, anthraquinone, indigoid, xanthene, pyrene, quinoline, triphenylmethane or fluoran dyes, insoluble sodium, potassium, calcium, barium, aluminum, zirconium, strontium or titanium salts of acid dyes.
Nacres which may be mentioned include pearlescent pigments, for example titanium mica coated with iron oxide, mica coated with bismuth oxychloride, titanium mica coated with chromium oxide, titanium mica coated with an organic dyeAnd also pearlescent pigments based on bismuth oxychloride. As commercial products of mother-of-pearl, mention may be made of those named by MerckThe Beige mother-of-pearl sold by Oriental Beige.
The colorant may be present in an amount ranging from 0.1 to 30 wt%, preferably from 1 to 20 wt% and more preferably from 2 to 10 wt%, relative to the total weight of the composition.

The composition according to the invention may preferably comprise at least one oil. The oil may be volatile or non-volatile. Preferably, the oil may be a non-volatile oil.
The oil may be selected from:
hydrocarbon-based oils of animal origin, such as perhydro squalene,

The oil may be present in an amount ranging from 0.1 to 50 wt%, preferably from 1 to 40 wt% and more preferably from 5 to 30 wt%, relative to the total weight of the composition.
-additives
The compositions according to the invention may contain additives as long as they do not impair the effects of the invention and as long as they are acceptable in cosmetic applications. The additive may be selected from anionic, cationic, nonionic or amphoteric polymers; natural thickeners or synthetic thickeners; lubricants or dispersants, such as sorbitan fatty acid esters, for example sorbitan sesquioleate; a gelling agent; natural extracts from animals or plants; a wax; a cosmetically acceptable hydrophobic organic solvent; preservatives, such as sodium dehydroacetate, phenoxyethanol, and chlorpheniramine; co-preservatives (co-preservatives) such as decanediol, ethylhexyl glycerol and octanediol; a germicide; vitamins or provitamins; a perfume; stabilizers, such as magnesium sulfate; and mixtures thereof.
The amount of additives included in the composition according to the present invention is not limited, but may be 0.01 to 30 wt% with respect to the total weight of the composition according to the present invention.
The composition of the present invention is a powdery cosmetic composition for keratin materials such as skin, for example, the skin of the face, neck and body, especially the facial skin, and more preferably a cosmetic make-up (cosmetic make-up) composition for the skin. The composition according to the invention may be provided in the form of a pressed powder or compact, blush or powder.
The composition according to the invention can provide keratin materials, in particular the face, with an improved natural and three-dimensional appearance, while maintaining good coverage to cover skin imperfections such as blemishes, wrinkles and (hair) holes. Thus, the composition according to the invention may provide a smaller and more distinct (defined) natural appearance of facial features.
It should be noted that the use of the composition according to the invention may create a stereoscopic appearance or volume effect on the face and thus does not require the use of different types of powder cosmetics, which are required by the rules of care to create a stereoscopic appearance. In addition, the use of the present invention does not require a high level of skill on the consumer to create a stereoscopic appearance on their face. Thus, the composition according to the invention is very suitable for use as a make-up powder, such as foundation powder, make-up powder or face powder; a body color cosmetic product; blush; and eye shadows, especially foundation powders and make-up powders.
The composition according to the invention is preferably anhydrous or contains less than 3% by weight of water and preferably less than 1% by weight of water relative to the total weight of the composition. The term "anhydrous" particularly means that water is preferably not deliberately added to the composition and more preferably is not present in the composition, but may be present in trace amounts in the various ingredients used in the composition.
[ beauty treatment method ]
The invention also relates to a cosmetic method comprising the step of applying the composition according to the invention to keratin materials, such as the skin, preferably facial skin. The composition may be picked up by rubbing off the powder with an applicator (e.g., a sponge, puff or brush). The composition may then be moved from the applicator to the skin by contacting the applicator against the skin.
The composition used according to the invention is preferably intended for use as leave-on cosmetic composition. The term "leave-on" refers to a composition that is not intended to be washed off or removed immediately after administration.
Because the compositions according to the present invention can provide improved natural and stereoscopic appearance to keratin materials (especially the face) while maintaining good hiding efficacy, the cosmetic methods according to the present invention can provide the keratin materials (especially the face) with a natural appearance as well as an attractive appearance of smaller and clearer features.
The invention also relates to the use of a combination of (a) a flop pigment and (b) a white pigment as a make-up active in cosmetic powder compositions (e.g. foundation powder, make-up powder or face powder; body make-up products; blush; and eye shadows, especially foundation powder and make-up powder).
Examples
The present invention will be described in more detail by means of examples. However, these examples should not be construed as limiting the scope of the invention.
< example 1 and comparative examples 1 to 5>
[ composition ]
The compositions according to example 1 and comparative examples 1 to 5 were prepared by mixing the ingredients listed in table 1, and then pressed with a press to obtain a pressed powder foundation. The compositions are shown in table 1. In table 1, all components are based on "wt%" (based on active raw materials).
[ evaluation ]
The compositions according to example 1 and comparative examples 1 to 5 were evaluated by 7 monitors with respect to three key properties of three-dimensional appearance effect, natural finishing and hiding efficacy. Each of the compositions according to example 1 and comparative examples 1 to 5 was applied on the monitor's face by the monitor himself, and the monitor evaluated whether they could perceive the stereoscopic effect after application, sufficient coverage, and natural finish. Table 1 shows how many people perceive each effect.

-effect pigments (b): product name:the pigment contained 52.5 wt% silica, 32.5 wt% aluminum powder and 15 wt% iron oxide. The interference color is red.
-effect pigments (c): product name: reliefBeige; the pigment comprises 75% by weight of mica, 15% by weight of titanium dioxide, 5% by weight of iron oxide and 5% by weight of silicon dioxide. The interference color is silver.
-effect pigments (d): product name:pink; the pigment contained 83 wt% mica, 16 wt% titanium dioxide and 1 wt% iron oxide. The interference color is silver.
As can be seen from the evaluation results in table 1, the composition according to example 1, which includes a combination of the effect pigment of the present invention and the white pigment in specific amounts, exhibits excellent stereoscopic appearance effect, natural finishing, and sufficient hiding efficacy.
On the other hand, the compositions according to comparative examples 1 to 3, which did not contain the effect pigments of the present invention, did not provide sufficient natural finishing or stereoscopic appearance effect. The composition according to comparative example 4 comprising (but including in a small amount) the effect pigment of the present invention does not provide sufficient stereoscopic appearance effect and hiding efficacy. The composition according to comparative example 5, which does not include a white pigment, does not provide a hiding power.
Example 2 ]
The composition according to example 2 was prepared by mixing the ingredients listed in table 2 and subsequently pressed with a press to obtain a foundation of a pressed powder. The compositions are shown in table 2. In table 2, all components are based on "wt%" (based on active raw materials).

It was also confirmed that the composition according to example 2 can provide three key properties of a remarkable stereoscopic appearance effect, natural finish and good hiding efficacy in the monitor test.
Thus, it can be concluded that: the powdery composition according to the present invention is highly preferably used as a makeup powder, such as foundation powder, make-up powder or face powder; a body color cosmetic product; blush; and eye shadows, especially foundation powders and make-up powders.
Claims (19)
1. A cosmetic powder composition comprising:
(a) At least one effect pigment capable of producing different colors depending on the angle of incidence of light and the angle of observation, wherein the effect pigment comprises light transmissive platelets, titanium dioxide, and a colorant, and exhibits an interference color selected from pink, red, orange, yellow, and gold in an amount of 20-40 wt% relative to the total weight of the composition;
(b) At least one white pigment, wherein the white pigment is selected from the group consisting of metal oxides, boron nitride, barium sulfate, coated pigments, and mixtures thereof, in an amount of 1-12 wt% relative to the total weight of the composition;
(c) At least one inorganic filler other than said (a) flop pigment and said (b) white pigment in an amount of 10 to 60 wt% relative to the total weight of the composition; and
(d) At least one oil in an amount of 0.1 to 50% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition,
wherein the (a) flop pigment has an average particle size of 0.5 μm or more and 100 μm or less, and the (b) white pigment has an average particle size of 0.01 μm to 50 μm,
wherein the light-transmitting platelets consist of mica or glass, the colorant is selected from iron oxide, and the light-transmitting platelets are present in an amount ranging from 30 to 75% by weight, the titanium dioxide is present in an amount ranging from 20 to 60% by weight, and the colorant is present in an amount ranging from 1 to 10% by weight, relative to the total weight of the (a) effect pigment.
2. The composition of claim 1, wherein the light transmissive platelets consist of mica.
3. The composition of claim 1 wherein the interference color of the (a) flop pigment is selected from the group consisting of pink, red, orange, and yellow.
4. A composition according to any one of claims 1-3, wherein the content of light transmitting platelets in the (a) effect pigment is in the range of 40-70 wt% relative to the total weight of the effect pigment.
5. A composition according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the content of titanium dioxide in the (a) effect pigment is in the range of 30-55 wt% relative to the total weight of the effect pigment.
6. A composition according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the content of colorant in the (a) effect pigment is in the range of 2-7 wt% relative to the total weight of the effect pigment.
7. A composition according to any one of claims 1-3, wherein the (b) white pigment is selected from titanium dioxide, zirconium dioxide, cerium dioxide, zinc oxide, coated mica, coated kaolin, and mixtures thereof.
8. The composition of claim 7, wherein the coated mica is coated sericite or coated fluorophlogopite.
9. The composition of any one of claims 1-3 and 8, wherein the (b) white pigment comprises a combination of two different white pigments.
10. The composition of any one of claims 1-3 and 8, wherein the (b) white pigment comprises or consists of a combination of titanium dioxide and a titanium dioxide coated pigment.
11. The composition of any one of claims 1-3 and 8, wherein the amount of (a) flop pigment ranges from 20-35 wt% relative to the total weight of the composition.
12. The composition of any one of claims 1-3 and 8, wherein the amount of the (b) white pigment ranges from 3-10 wt% relative to the total weight of the composition.
13. The composition according to any one of claims 1-3 and 8 for use as a foundation powder or make-up powder.
14. The composition of any one of claims 1-3 and 8 for use as a face powder.
15. The composition according to any one of claims 1-3 and 8 for use as a body makeup product, blush or eye shadow.
16. The composition of any one of claims 1-3 and 8, which is anhydrous.
17. The composition according to any one of claims 1-3 and 8, which contains less than 3 wt% of water relative to the total weight of the composition.
18. The composition of claim 17, containing less than 1% by weight of water relative to the total weight of the composition.
19. A non-therapeutic cosmetic method for making up skin comprising the step of applying the composition according to any one of claims 1-18 to the skin.
