Abstract
The invention relates to the technical field of fastening, in particular to a seal nut assembly. The seal nut assembly comprises a nut and a seal ring; the sealing ring is arranged at one end of the nut and is coaxial with the threaded hole of the nut; the end face of the sealing ring protrudes out of the corresponding end face of the nut so as to be pressed tightly on the connected piece by the nut when in use, the sealing ring is extruded axially to deform radially, and the sealing ring can hold a matched bolt tightly to realize axial sealing. Embodiments of the seal nut assembly provided by the present invention:
as shown in fig. 1 and 2, the gland nut assembly includes a nut 1, a packing 2 mounted at a lower end of the nut 1, and a gland cap 3 mounted at an upper end of the nut 1; in this embodiment, the material of the seal ring 2 is ptfe SFBN.
As shown in fig. 1-3, a threaded hole 4 is formed in the middle region of the nut 1, an installation groove 7 for installing the seal ring 2 is formed in the lower end of the nut, an annular groove 9 for installing the seal cover 3 is formed in the upper end of the nut, and the threaded hole 4, the installation groove 7 and the annular groove 9 are coaxially arranged and are communicated up and down; the mounting groove 7 is formed upwards from the lower end face of the nut 1, the inner diameter of the mounting groove 7 is larger than the outer diameter of threads at the threaded hole 4, so that a step surface 8 is formed between the mounting groove 7 and the threaded hole 4, the sealing ring 2 is mounted in the mounting groove 7 in an interference fit mode, the upper end face of the sealing ring 2 is in contact with the step surface 8, and after the sealing ring 2 is mounted in the mounting groove 7, the lower end of the sealing ring extends out of the mounting groove 7; the inner diameter of the sealing ring 2 is equal to the outer diameter of the thread at the threaded hole 4 after installation.
The lower end of the sealing ring 2 extends out of the mounting groove 7, when the nut 1 is tightly pressed by a connecting piece, the sealing ring 2 can radially deform, the deformation of the sealing ring 2 is plastic deformation, and the sealing ring 2 holds a matched bolt tightly after the sealing ring 2 deforms; by the arrangement, not only is the sealing between the corresponding surfaces of the nut 1 and the connected piece realized, but also the deformed sealing ring 2 can be filled into the thread groove of the external thread on the matched bolt, so that the connection part is sealed along the axial direction of the matched bolt, and meanwhile, the locking between the matched bolt and the nut 1 can be further realized by tightly holding the matched bolt by the sealing ring 2.
As shown in fig. 1, 2 and 4, an annular groove wall 11 extends upwards from the upper end of the nut 1 to form an annular groove 9, and the inner diameter of the annular groove 9 is larger than the outer diameter of the thread at the threaded hole 4, so that a stop surface 10 is formed between the annular groove 9 and the threaded hole 4; the sealing cover 3 comprises a locking ring 13 and a cover body 14 integrally arranged on the inner side of the upper end face of the locking ring 13, the locking ring 13 is in a circular ring shape and is formed by nylon injection molding, after the sealing cover 3 is installed in the annular groove 9, the lower end face of the locking ring 13 is contacted with the stop face 10, the groove wall 11 of the annular groove 9 is bent inwards to form a stop edge 12, the stop edge 12 presses the upper end face of the locking ring 13, so that the locking ring 13 is fixed in the annular groove 9, the cover body 14 is in a cylindrical shape, the upper end of the cover body is closed, and a abdicating space 17 for a rod section of a matched bolt to extend into is; in order to prevent the seal cover 3 from moving in the radial direction, the outer diameter of the locking ring 13 is set to be equal to the inner diameter of the annular groove 9; the inner diameter of the locking ring 13 is larger than the inner diameter of the thread at the threaded hole 4 and smaller than the outer diameter of the thread at the threaded hole 4, so that when the locking ring 13 is used, a matched bolt can radially extrude the locking ring 13, and the locking ring 13 can also tightly hold the matched bolt, thereby realizing the anti-loosening of the bolt and the nut assembly; the retaining edge 12 forms a flange for the press-fit locking ring 13.
As shown in fig. 5, in order to facilitate the radial inward deformation of the sealing ring 2, the outer peripheral surface of the lower end of the sealing ring 2 is provided with a tapered surface 15 which is gradually reduced from top to bottom, so that when the sealing ring 2 is extruded, the sealing ring 2 is more convenient to deform radially inward, and thus the supporting bolt can be held tightly.
In the above embodiments, the inner diameter of the seal ring after installation (i.e. before deformation) is equal to the outer diameter of the thread at the threaded bore. In other embodiments, the inner diameter of the installed sealing ring may also be larger than the outer diameter of the thread at the threaded hole, for example, the inner diameter of the installed sealing ring is larger than the outer diameter of the thread at the threaded hole by 0.1mm, as long as it is ensured that the sealing ring can hug the mating bolt tightly to realize axial sealing after being extruded and deformed by the step surface and the connecting piece.
In the above embodiment, the outer peripheral surface of the lower end of the seal ring is formed as a tapered surface. In other embodiments, the sealing ring may be a cylindrical hollow structure as a whole, and the same can be used.
In the above embodiment, the seal ring is installed in the installation groove by interference fit. In other embodiments, the sealing ring may be fixed in the mounting groove by other means, such as by adhesion.
In the above embodiment, the mounting groove extends upwards from the lower end surface of the nut into the nut. In other embodiments, the mounting groove may be formed by extending an annular groove wall from the lower end surface of the nut in the present embodiment downward, and the same may be used.
In the above embodiment, the packing is mounted on the nut through the mounting groove. In other embodiments, the sealing ring may be mounted on the nut in other manners, such as directly bonded to the lower end surface of the nut, or a ring of annular wall plate extends downward from the lower end surface of the nut, an annular groove is formed in the sealing ring corresponding to the annular wall plate, and the sealing ring is inserted into the wall plate of the nut through the groove to be mounted, which is also applicable.
In the above embodiment, the material of the sealing ring is ptfe SFBN. In other embodiments, the material of the sealing ring may also be rubber, which may also be used, and the deformation of the sealing ring made of rubber during use is elastic deformation.
In the above embodiment, the inner diameter of the locking ring is smaller than the outer diameter of the thread at the threaded hole and larger than the inner diameter of the thread at the threaded hole. In other embodiments, the inner diameter of the locking ring may be greater than the outer diameter of the threads at the threaded bore, or less than the inner diameter of the threads at the threaded bore.
In the above embodiment, the seal cap includes a locking ring and a cap body. In other embodiments, the cover may not be provided, only the locking ring may be provided, and the same may be used.
Claims (9)
1. A gland nut assembly, comprising:
a nut;
the sealing ring is arranged at one end of the nut and is coaxial with the threaded hole of the nut;
the end face of the sealing ring protrudes out of the corresponding end face of the nut so as to be pressed tightly on the connected piece by the nut when in use, the sealing ring is extruded axially to deform radially, and the sealing ring can hold a matched bolt tightly to realize axial sealing.
2. The seal nut assembly of claim 1 wherein the end of the nut has a mounting groove for receiving the seal ring, the mounting groove being coaxial with and in communication with the threaded bore of the nut, the seal ring being mounted in the mounting groove, and the groove wall of the mounting groove retaining the seal ring radially outwardly upon radial deformation of the seal ring.
3. The seal nut assembly of claim 2 wherein the mounting groove opens inwardly from the end face of the nut.
4. A gland nut assembly according to claim 2 or claim 3 wherein the sealing ring is an interference fit with the mounting groove.
5. A gland nut assembly according to claim 1, 2 or 3 wherein the internal diameter of the sealing ring is equal to the external diameter of the thread at the threaded bore.
6. A gland nut assembly according to claim 1, 2 or 3, wherein the outer periphery of the end of the packing facing away from the nut is tapered so as to decrease in the direction away from the nut.
7. A gland nut assembly according to claim 1, 2 or 3, wherein the sealing ring is of ptfe.
8. A gland nut assembly according to claim 1, 2 or 3 wherein the end of the nut remote from the sealing ring is crimped with a locking ring having an internal diameter which is less than the external diameter of the thread at the threaded bore and greater than the internal diameter of the thread at the threaded bore.
9. The seal nut assembly of claim 8 wherein the end surface of the locking ring is integrally provided with a seal cage inside the flange, the seal cage having a space for providing access to the end of the mating bolt.
