In order to arrange the positions of the silver paste points reasonably, the inventor conducts the following research on a display panel in the prior art:
fig. 1 is a schematic top view of a display panel according to the prior art, and fig. 2 is a schematic cross-sectional view of the display panel according to the prior art, wherein fig. 2 is a cross-sectional view taken along a cut line S '-S' in fig. 1, and as shown in fig. 1 and 2, the display panel includes a first substrate 10 'and a second substrate 20' opposite to each other, a display material layer 30 'between the first substrate 10' and the second substrate 20', and a polarizer 40' on a side of the second substrate 20 'away from the first substrate 10'. In the first direction a ', the length of the first substrate 10' is greater than the length of the second substrate 20' to form a stepped region TA ' on the first substrate 10 '. The display panel further includes a silver paste point P ', which extends from the position of the step area TA' of the first substrate 10 'to the second substrate 20', so as to realize electrical conduction between the first substrate 10 'and the second substrate 20', thereby releasing the static electricity on the first substrate 10 'through the second substrate 20', and releasing the static electricity on the second substrate 20 'through the first substrate 10'.
Meanwhile, the display panel has a display area AA ' and a non-display area BA ' surrounding the display area AA ', and the screen occupation ratio of the existing display requirements is continuously increased, so that the non-display area BA ' is continuously reduced, and the distance C ' between one side of the step area, that is, the edge of the second substrate 20' and the edge of the display area AA ' is reduced. And the distance C ' is composed of a distance a ' between the edge of the display area AA ' and the edge of the polarizer 40' and a distance B ' between the edge of the polarizer 40' and the edge of the second substrate 20 '. For the distance a ', when the distance a' is too small, the edge of the polarizer 40 'is visible in the display area AA' after the polarizer 40 'is easily attached based on the attachment error of the polarizer 40'; for the distance B ', the distance B' needs to ensure enough space for placing the silver paste point P ', and when the distance B' is too small, the silver paste point P may not be placed. Therefore, the prior art encounters a technical bottleneck in reducing the distance C ', and cannot further realize a narrow bezel by reducing the distance C'.
Aiming at the technical problem, the invention provides a display panel and a display device, aiming at the display panel with a corner edge in a display area, a broken corner is arranged at the position of a polaroid corresponding to the corner edge, and a silver glue point is arranged at the position of the broken corner, so that the corner space is fully utilized, the frame can be further reduced, and the display panel is beneficial to realizing a narrow frame.
With respect to embodiments of the display panel and the display device provided by the present invention, the following will be described in detail.
Fig. 3 is a schematic top view of a display panel according to an embodiment of the present invention, and fig. 4 and 5 are schematic cross-sectional views of the display panel according to the embodiment of the present invention, wherein fig. 4 is a cross-sectional view taken along a tangent line S1-S1 in fig. 3, and fig. 5 is a cross-sectional view taken along a tangent line S2-S2 in fig. 3, and in an embodiment, as shown in fig. 3 to 5, the display panel has a display area AA including a first edge a1 and a second edge a2 opposite in a first direction a, and a third edge A3 and a fourth edge a4 opposite in a second direction b, wherein the first edge a1 and the third edge A3 are connected by a first corner edge R1, that is, the display area AA has a corner design, and is at least arranged at a position where the first edge a1 and the third edge A3 intersect, and the edge of the display area AA is a first corner R1, wherein the first corner edge R1 may be a straight line, an arc line, or other regular and irregular line, the first direction a and the second direction b intersect, optionally, the first direction a and the second direction b are perpendicular.
The display panel includes: the display panel comprises a first substrate 10, a second substrate 20 arranged opposite to the first substrate 10 in a third direction c, a display material layer 30 arranged between the first substrate 10 and the second substrate 20, a polarizer 40 arranged on one side of the second substrate 20 far away from the first substrate 10, and a silver glue point P for conducting the first substrate 10 and the second substrate 20, wherein electrostatic discharge of the first substrate 10 and the second substrate 20 is realized through the silver glue point P, and the third direction c is perpendicular to the first direction a and the second direction b. The display material layer 30 may be a liquid crystal material.
Wherein, in the first direction a, the length L1 of the first substrate 10 is greater than the length L2 of the second substrate 20 to form a step area TA on the first substrate 10, and the first edge a1 is closer to the step area TA than the second edge a 2; the polarizer 40 has a first unfilled corner QA1 exposing the second substrate 20 at a position corresponding to the first corner edge R1, on one hand, the first unfilled corner QA1 is disposed corresponding to the first corner edge R1, i.e., at the position, the display area AA and the polarizer 40 are simultaneously retracted inward, the disposition of the first unfilled corner QA1 does not increase the risk of the polarizer 40 being far from being visible in the display area AA, and on the other hand, the design of the first unfilled corner QA1 can avoid the space for disposing the silver paste point P, so that the silver paste point P extends from the step area TA of the first substrate 10 to the position of the second substrate 20 exposed by the first unfilled corner QA 1.
Optionally, an electrostatic discharge circuit is disposed in the first substrate 10, a connection contact H of the electrostatic discharge circuit is located in the step area TA, and when the silver paste is dispensed, the operation is performed at the position of the connection contact H to make the silver paste point P contact with the connection contact H to conduct electricity, so that the static electricity on the second substrate 20 can be discharged to the connection contact H through the silver paste point P, and finally, the static electricity is discharged by the electrostatic discharge circuit.
As shown in FIG. 3, the edge of polarizer 40 that forms first unfilled corner QA1 is defined as first unfilled corner edge Q1; polarizer 40 includes a fifth edge 41 extending in second direction b, and fifth edge 41 is connected to first unfilled edge Q1; an edge of the second substrate 20 near the stepped region TA is defined as a sixth edge 21. When the polarizer 40 is not provided with the first unfilled corner QA1, the fifth edge 41 may extend to the position of the first unfilled corner QA1, which requires a sufficient distance between the fifth edge 41 of the polarizer 40 and the sixth edge 21 of the second substrate 20 for disposing the silver paste dot P. After the first unfilled corner QA1 is formed, the ag paste dot P may be disposed at a position of the second substrate 20 exposed by the first unfilled corner QA1, so that the distance B between the fifth edge 41 of the polarizer 40 and the sixth edge 21 of the second substrate 20 may be reduced in the first direction a, thereby not only disposing the ag paste dot P to achieve electrostatic discharge, but also reducing a frame compared to the prior art.
The display panel provided by the embodiment is adopted, the display area is provided with the corner edge formed by the unfilled corner, the polaroid is correspondingly provided with the unfilled corner at the position corresponding to the corner edge, the second substrate is exposed at the position of the unfilled corner of the polaroid, the silver glue point extends from the step area to the position of the second substrate exposed by the unfilled corner of the polaroid, the conduction between the first substrate and the second substrate is realized, because the unfilled corner of the polaroid corresponds to the unfilled corner design of the display area, therefore, the unfilled corner of the polaroid can not increase the visual risk of the edge of the polaroid in the display area, but the silver glue point is arranged at the unfilled corner position of the polaroid, so that the distance between the edge of the polaroid and the edge of the second substrate can be reduced, namely, the frame is reduced, and the narrow frame of the display panel is favorably realized. Especially for the display panel with the R angle in the display area in the prior art (wherein the arc edge corresponding to the R angle is also the first corner edge of the display area), the space at the position of the R angle is reasonably utilized, the silver paste point can be arranged to realize electrostatic discharge, the frame can be reduced, and the risk that the edge of the polarizer is visible in the display area can not be increased.
In one embodiment, referring to fig. 3, the minimum distance between the first unfilled corner edge Q1 and the first corner edge R1 is a first distance D, and considering the assembly accuracy of the polarizer 40 during the assembly process, in order to avoid the visibility of the polarizer in the display area AA, a certain distance needs to be reserved between the edge of the polarizer 40 and the edge of the display area AA, and the minimum value of the distance is defined as a safety distance, that is, the edge of the polarizer 40 is not visible, the minimum distance between the edge of the display area AA and the edge of the polarizer 40 is a safety distance, and the first distance D is greater than or equal to the safety distance.
By adopting the display panel provided by the embodiment, the minimum distance between the first unfilled corner edge and the first corner edge is set to be greater than or equal to the safety distance, so that the first unfilled corner edge is ensured not to be visible in the display area.
In one embodiment, with continued reference to fig. 3, the distance between the fifth edge 41 of the polarizer 40 and the first edge a1 of the display area AA is a second distance a, and the second distance a is greater than or equal to the safety distance.

In an embodiment, referring to fig. 3, the first unfilled corner QA1 is a rounded corner, the first unfilled corner edge Q1 is parallel to the first corner edge R1, and the first distance D is equal to the second distance a, wherein, for a display panel having a display area with an R corner, the arc corresponding to the rounded corner, that is, the arc of the first unfilled corner edge Q1 may be equal to the arc corresponding to the R corner (that is, the arc of the first corner edge Q1 is equal), that is, the first unfilled corner edge Q1 is parallel to the first corner edge R1, so that the distances between the first unfilled corner edge Q1 and the first corner edge R1 at positions are equal to the first distance D and equal to the second distance a, so that the distances between the edges of the polarizer 40 (including the fifth edge 41 and the first unfilled corner edge Q1) near the plateau area TA and the display area AA are uniform, and the process is simpler when the polarizer 40 is manufactured and attached. Further, the first distance D and the second distance a are equal to the safety distance, so that the edges of the polarizer 40 close to the step area TA are just not visible in the display area AA.
In an embodiment, fig. 8 is a schematic top view of a display panel according to another embodiment of the present invention, as shown in fig. 8, since a space for disposing the silver paste point P may not be required between the fifth edge 41 of the polarizer 40 and the sixth edge 21 of the second substrate 20 close to the step area TA, a distance between the fifth edge 41 of the polarizer 40 and the sixth edge 21 of the second substrate 20 close to the step area TA may be reduced to reduce a frame, and in one case, the distance may be reduced to 0, that is, the fifth edge of the polarizer is flush with the sixth edge of the second substrate.
By adopting the display panel provided by the embodiment, the fifth edge of the polarizer and the sixth edge of the second substrate are arranged to be flush, so that the frame can be reduced to the maximum extent.
