Abstract

The pocket watch has a pendant block (8,10) which may be placed in two stable positions, 180 degrees apart by depression and turning. In each position a push button (4) located in the winding crown (3) actuates a rod (32) to depress a sliding tube (28) and release either the top or bottom covers (33,34) through catches (39,40).

Timepiece, in particular pocket watch, provided with a cover on each side, a pendant and a winding and time-setting mechanism, characterized in that it comprises a mechanism opening the covers comprising an axially sliding stud in the winding crown and acting, by means of sliding members guided by the winding mechanism, on latches holding the covers in the closed position; and by the fact that the pendant is angularly movable by 180 DEG with respect to the timepiece around its axis of symmetry between two stable positions, the whole arranged so that when the pendant is in its first stable position the mechanism opening causes the opening of one of the covers and when the pendant is in a second stable position the opening mechanism causes the opening of the other cover.

Timepiece according to claim 1, characterized in that the pendant is movable axially in a bearing fixed to the case of the piece, concentrically to the axis of the opening mechanism and the winding mechanism, an action elastic return tending to move it away from the middle; and by the fact that in the two stable positions of the pendant, it is angularly blocked.

3. Timepiece according to one of claims 1 or 2, characterized in that the pendant is angularly secured to a member of the opening device sliding angularly and axially around the winding stem and acting on said latches covers.
