Abstract

"PROTEìNA TENSOATIVA D (SP-D) PARA A PREVENçãO E DIAGNOSE DE ENFISEMA PULMONAR". A proteína tensoativa D (SP-D) é um elemento 43-kDa da família colecitina de proteínas contendo domínio de lecitina de colágeno que é expressada em células epiteliais do pulmão. O gene SP-D foi alvejado por recombinação homóloga em células tronco de embrião que foram usadas para produzir camundongos SP-D(-/-). A deficiência SP-D (-/-) causou inflamação, produção oxidante aumentada por macrófagos alveolares isolados, níveis e estrutura tensoativa anormais, e expressão SP-A diminuída. Portanto, descreveu-se o camundongo SP-D (-/-) como um excelente modelo para enfisema. Também foram incluídos modelos para testes de terapias de enfisema no modelo de camundongo, métodos para se usar a proteína SP-D ou DNA como um tratamento para infecções pulmonares e enfisema, e diagnose.
