Abstract

"PROCESSO E APARELHO PARA RECUPERAR ENXOFRE DE UMA CORRENTE DE GáS QUE CONTéM GáS SULFìDRICO". Oxigênio ou ar enriquecido com oxigênio é empregado para sustentar a combustão no forno (16) com o teor de gás sulfídrico de uma primeira corrente de gás de alimentação. O enxofre é extraído da corrente de gás resultante em um condensador de enxofre (26). A reação catalítica de Claus entre gás sulfídrico e dióxido de enxofre na corrente de gás esgotada de vapor de enxofre, resultante, ocorre em um reator catalítico (32). O enxofre é extraído em um outro condensador de enxofre (34). A corrente de gás esgotada de vapor de enxofre, resultante, é passada para dentro de uma reator de redução catalítica (40) no qual todo o dióxido de enxofre e vapor de enxofre residuais são reduzidos para gás sulfídrico. A mistura de gases reduzida resultante tem o vapor d'água extraído dela em uma torre de interrupção rápida de reação (52). A corrente de gás esgotada de vapor d'água, resultante, escoa para uma unidade de Claus para tratamento adicional, tipicamente junto com uma segunda corrente de gás de alimentação. Empregar o reator catalítico de Claus (32) possibilita o atingimento de redução completa de dióxido de enxofre para gás sulfídrico no reator catalítico (40), e portanto, torna possível obter altas conversões globais de gás sulfídrico em enxofre.
