Highly familar elements feature in both these series's, you'd think it was delibrate...
Both start with a pretty, mystery girl singing, an 'average schoolboy' who's life is about to change as he plays hero in a superpower world he's not too clued up on, the girl seems familar, the military element is displayed pretty much right away.

Guilty Crown and Deadman Wonderland - at first they seem to have nothing in common, but actually both of them have quite similiar story plot - Big Bad Thing happened in the past, main characters don't really remember these apocalypses, but are connected to them, or perhaps to a girl that started them. Then they meet this girl they know, but don't remember and go fight with the "bad guys". Deadman Wonderland is much darker, creepier and have more logical elements than Guilty Crown, though. If you liked Guilty Crown, you probably will love Deadman Wonderland!
Both characters are put under an immense amount of pressure by something terrible happening in their life. They both end up meeting a woman that is much stronger than both of them and the women end up taking care of them. Both the male characters in each story act weak but have to finally step up to the plate, but that doesn't mean they aren't crying about it every step of the way...

Both share a likeness in protagonist, of which each have a unique sense of justice compared to those surrounding them. They also have a female companion with mysterious backgrounds that seemingly have close connections to the protagonists shrouded pasts. Let me not forget to mention the unique abilities given to them against their will during the first episode.
Then there is the background story, of a massive disaster that has changed the course of life in each of their respective universe.
Rather similar if you ask me. Your typical bored to death person who is striven by circumstances and rises to meet the occasion. Both deal with conspiracy (which are strongly developed in the story) You have Inori who deep down is a physco killer just like Shiro is (Shiro is hilariously funny and strong, inori is pretty dull but very romantic). The main characters relate of course. Both weak in every sense of the word, but have great power once know how to use it...Deadman Wonderland is my top #2 anime, this anime is some serious stuff and you should totally watch it, is very

Both anime's main Heroine is somehow related to a disaster that happened in the past and is now helping the Protagonist to come to terms with a new power they gained and takes their side, regardless of how their original conscious would have acted.
Both of them take place in near future. In both of them the main protagonist used to live a normal life, until something happened to them from the girl they love. Also the protagonists abilities are the key of the plot and finally both places that the stories take places have been hitted from a tragedy.

Guilty Crown and Deadman wonderland do have a lot in common even if it does not seem like that at first glance. The main character is a high school age boy who is considered somewhat 'weak'. Throughout the series we see the main character 'grow up' or in other words become stronger.
Along with the becoming stronger they are separated from their normal school lives following someone that they love. This is not really the case for Ganta from Deadman Wonderland as he does not have a choice in the matter.
Tl:DR
Both animes followed a weak school aged boy who becomes 'stronger' when
