Hiyokoi and Honey Lemon Soda are both about a shy, introverted girl with no friends trying to make friends in high school. In school, the first person that opens up to the FL is the popular, good looking ML. In Honey Lemon Soda, the ML is more the unapproachable cool type. Both FL's have overprotective fathers who can't bear to see their previous daddy's girl with no friends leave the nest and get a boyfriend. Quiet/shy girl with black hair. Transforms in high school and meets popular boy. The difference is that Kazahaya in Kimi ni Todoke is fresh boy...and Kai in Honey Lemon Soda is more edgy "bad" (rly more lonely/confused) boy.

The relationship between main characters are very similar, they're comfort, moreover the personalities of both heroines are extremely similar as well. Uka & Hyejin have problems with communication, dating and love. They're learning step-by-step and improving their social skills and love life.

Both of these manga have a hint of romance within a school setting. Kono Oto Tomare! does not focus solely on romance, however. By using music as a medium, the reader can see the characters develop before their very eyes. In Honey Lemon Soda, the medium for character development is solely focused on school and interactions with classmates. Both of these mangas have an amazing art style and a plot that will make you feel the butterflies in your stomach!
