In the beginning, Kusatta Kyoushi no Houteishiki is lighthearted and well-balanced between Atsushi and Masayoshi's budding romance and Tooru and Masami's existing one, but after a while the first two kind of take a step back and give center stage to Tooru and Masami's relationship. Of course I enjoyed watching their romance progress, but at times it almost seemed a little dragged on. Once those two hit the next level of their relationship, however, Masayoshi and Atsushi stepped back up and created the best parts of the manga for me. It was great to see Atsushi grow up and mature, forever devoted to Masayoshi, and
...
especially moving to see Masayoshi mature and become more comfortable with himself.
This is a very funny manga, especially when Tooru is in the scene, that knows when to be serious and pump up the suspense. In the beginning it's extremely lighthearted and reflects everyone's immaturity, but as the characters grow and mature it gets deeper and more full of emotion. I felt very fulfilled when it ended, and all in all I really enjoyed this manga and spending time with its characters. It was also a treat to see the change in art style between the first and final volumes.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone who likes reading BL romances!
