Sophie shouldn't have ran away but I get the logic that she didn't want to get Blade and her friends involved anymore. On the other hand, this finale reminded us that Blade always considered Sophie as a friend.
The whole logic of facing off gainst those Sophie lookalikes was eh....underwhelming imo. It did take on a more serious turn this episode but super predictable how that concluded. A very average anime imo.
Wow, they went nowhere with the Sophie running away plot in the end.
In order to fend off assassins who shared her same circumstances, Sophie submits her withdrawal notice to the school and disappears. However, Blade and Ernest make every effort to locate her, informing Sophie that they will fight alongside her as her friends. Thus begins the showdown with the "Sophie Series". Can Blade withstand their attacks and secure victory? And will they be able to reclaim the ordinary school life of eating pork cutlet curry in the cafeteria?
A very intense final battle I even can't lie. For a second I actually thought that the Sophies were gone. But this is a friendly anime so I can't expect much. Though the final battle was pretty entertaining I can't lie. I wish they'd have kept the Sophies dead but oh well. Though I guess reverting all the Sophie into one Sophie is a way to solve the problem. I feel bad for all of them though.
Very mediocre show. Forgettable show that technically counts as Iseaki so it makes sense.
Sophie's sudden withdrawal sparks controversy, though Gilgamesh has no right to stop her. But Blade, Earnest and gang wants to save her, though the reason that Sophie is facing her 5 sister clones to kill them, is the appropriate approach, as opposed to letting outsiders tainting their hands on a purely personal matter.
Naturally, everyone follows along for the dangerous mission, but Sophie hasn't even told them the entire story yet: she's one of the actual human Guinea pigs used for the Artificial Great Hero project, which due to someone's funding, spawned the Sophie series, to which Sophie must handle the matter herself. To that, Blade has an idea not to kill the 5 sisters, but that plan is etched down to everyone's help, or more precisely Eliza's.
The letter of challenge issued for them to meet Blade while the gang hides in disguise, all must go according to plan of wearing them out and depleting their energy, while finding the real perpetrator controlling the sisters, taking them out one by one. But their lifespan wearing 14 days until the sunset, through shoddy maintenance they've persevered with their creator who was already dead, they're hitting the limts of science in terms of revival. The only way to do so is through Une, who still has her Artificial Great Hero Power, which Blade controls that power and flows to Sophie herself.
A serious arc for the ending, it ended amicably with Sophie akin to having 6 children (if she considers herself as one).
As an entire series, this is fine, if you don't take this seriously. Otherwise, this is average as heck.
A dumb fun battle harem ecchi story straight out of the 00s. I've got a soft spot for these titles. Really wouldn't mind having at least one of these every season. One point deduction for the stupid censorship.
Kast2 said: What did Sophie mean at the end "it's like having 6 children"?
Probably keeping them under control is like if someone has 6 kids. Each one has a completely different personality and each have different ways needed to calm them down.
So just like we expected, there was no way that Blade would destroy the Sophie’s. He was always going to try and become friends with them.
Kind of makes things sadder when you realise there never were any commands and the creator died before they were even made.. they’ve basically been living for a false mission the whole time.
Interesting solution by Sophie to absorb all of their magic and personalities. Gotta be a massive headache walking around with that many people in your head now lol.
Was beginning to think we’d go an episode with Earnest losing her clothes but thankfully not. The post credits scene is hilarious and gives that proper seasonal finale send-off. Asmodeus going soft on Earnest reminded me of the sword from Yuusha Ga Shinda lol.
Welp, that’s a wrap on this one. It wasn’t the best story ever but hell, I enjoyed it. Really silly and over the top, but solid. Fun watch for sure and I’ll miss it.
The five of them merged together with Sophie, well atleast they'll live on inside her this way. Though six personalities in one body is a bit too much lol and there was already the demon queen with dual personality. Anyway okay season finale, kinda funny how they still didn't get that Blade is the hero or they already know and are just pretending.
Was happy to have a battle harem anime and wasn't expecting much from this but wish it had more on the harem and ecchi. The entire show was just hero this and hero that. Anyway would watch if it gets another season.
There were parts that annoyed me, but overall it was a decent watch. I think this might be the closest we've gotten to a classic harem/ecchi anime in a while, so it was fun. Sophie is the best girl, and it's not even a competition. I don't expect a second season, but I'd watch if it gets one.
Also, I think it would be kind of interesting if there was a spin-off of the show where Blade accepts the role of Great Hero again, but this time he travels with Sophie to do all of the hero stuff since she's 5 or 6 different clones fused into one.
I think this was the most cliche and generic anime of the season haha (at least of the ones I picked up to watch).
the best thing about the anime was the chubby Arnest. 😋
This show can really go from light hearted to serious quickly. Not the best animated, not a fan of harem stuff, but the rest of it is funny, interesting, and I want to see more. Thankfully I don't think they'll lean too hard on the harem stuff (i hope).
Lol, the 6 kids comment is really getting under my skin, especially for a show that doesn't require thinking, lol.
Anyway, it was an ok show. I just wish we got to see Blade and his time as a hero instead of always referring to his heroics. As everyone says, this was an" ok show once you turn off your brain," but I'll take it a step further and say, " Great show if you turn off both heads if you're a guy."
The comedy was great at times and didn't take its self to serious I wish they focused less on the plot and went full balls to the wall from a writing perspective. All in all, 5/10 for me, not too bad, but nothing major either.
It shocks me that everyone still has no idea that Blade's the Great Hero, to them he's just a superorganism. Not only Marie has a split personality, but now Sophie has too XD, I'm impressed she can carry so many souls and minds in one body!
I thought Sophie was implying that Blade was the 6th kid when she said "it feels like having six children" since maturity wise he kind of acts like a kid at times.
Anyways, I thought the ending was decent with Blade and Sophie being able to save her "sisters" by absorbing their consciousnesses into her own. Also, I liked how throughout the series Blade ended up befriending just about all of the students including Earnest whom didn't like him in the beginning and they all ended up helping in finding Sophie at the end.
The storyline throughout was ok but the character developments were pretty good. One scene in particular stood out and that was when the students gathered the royal ingredients to make Blade a birthday curry meal and he felt like crying when he realized what they did. Beyond that the character designs and animation were good, and the fanservice and ecchi were top-notch.
The comedy was mostly misses with a few funny moments.
The ecchi leaved much to be desired since the characters dont feel well fleshed out and because censorship we get nippless girls but the guys had nipples and full naked ass cheeks. That aside characters just having their clothes get blown off without them acting sexy isnt particularly my thing.
The action never felt like anything serious even when it was meant to be.
At best this is a slice of life about a naive guy trying to make friends and it doesnt have enough cuteness appeal or long attachment to characters even for that to even be that good.
It had some nice moments that were kind of touching but it in retrospect it came off like forced drama that as soon as it came up always resolved in a single episode or two. Any character development comes off kind of pretty superficial since it happens so quickly it's practically their backstory already. It had some pretty terrible episodes in it among a few good ones.
Overall it was good for a “fodder” show, they didnt rely in any cgi which is very surprising and made it more enjoying. The only complaints are the key parts they didnt adapt between Blade and Earnest relationship and the echie was just mid since it was airing on crunchyroll ofc
the story, whatever it was, with the collective training and all, was super stupid.
But the characters and their personalities were super fun. Not watching it for the fights or anything,
but the shenanigans the characters do among themselves when they are (mostly) forced to do stupid stuff on behalf of the
king.
Well this series never took it self serious, although I felt like it was gonna be a hardcore battle series from the beginning only to be introduced to all kinds of craziness in the following episodes while it may be hot trash but I strangely enjoyed it and actually picked up the manga afterwards to my surprise the manga is actually far and the art in the manga matches the anime very closely so if a season 2 comes I’m all for it cuz the manga has enough content for a season 2
This clones arc, the android episode, and the dragon episode were the best parts of this show. Other than that it was a chore to watch. The comedy was complete miss for me.
The series should have gone full out with the ecchi, shame it was so weak. These last couple episodes with Sophie weren't bad but the entirety of the show was basically just a silly episodic events that pretty much had no goal nor led to anything major. Felt like I was watching something from a decade or two ago.
This anime wasted reasonably decent art and animation. The characters were dry as cardboard, there’s no plot, and the comedy fell flat. Sophie was a decent character, but Earnest balanced things out by being a trash character.
Ernest lol those derp faces.
cool fight Blade vs attack of the clones.
guess merging souls is not bad. Sophie so many personalities lol.
Good episodic drama & comedy, but rushed drama can feel tonal whiplash & cheapen the otherwise good premises. Many episodes verge too much silliness. Good animation. Fun cast but once each solve their character episode, each one mostly becomes a flat background trope.
I'll be honest, you know something has gone wrong when i've watched 11 eps and i dont feel like watching the last one
Sigh. a few years ago i have actually had an anime where the same thing happened, 11/12 because i just gave up on the last ep
I dunno. like, no matter how good the last ep is it doesnt really change/fix the fact that the previous eps. like i dunno what to say really, its my own fault so to speak
The ironic/sad thing is that because the last two eps basically decided to become srs dorama, i cant even switch off my brain and watch it like a comedy because well
Anyway for the actual ep itself
so we start with some dorama about sophie
i was expecting/thinking that the five girls would actally attack us, but it seems(?) we're going to them instead.
maybe
anyway as you'd expecting, everyone is going now. i think the 5 are quite strong, but its not like our side is that weak, so the numbers advantage
though uh. i dont think we've seen eliza actually do any combat?
the funny thing is we the audience and blade already got the explanation for sophie way back in ep 2, but yeah the others dont know so only now after sophie explains
the silly thing is for better or worse nobody can figure out that blade = hero
shrug
ok so anyway, in the end i dont even know what to call this, but its time to uh, finish this
curious what kind of trap they have
hmm. blade in general has mostly been in the back, so having a 5v1 against blade definitely feels uhm
well at leas they have a plan, but hmm, are things really going to go according to plan?
really strange to see everyone else literally sitting there and watching
i am curious though, since. usually you dont see other people, but blade is so op that even though his sword gets knocked out he can still continue
though he did get some uh...help. shrug
huh, does each capsule have a different ability in it? hmm
i mean its the usual problem, we know blade is going to win, so even if he's actually almost lost, as long as he doesnt actually lose then welp
(also i dunno about you guys but the sound balancing and explosions is really ugh here)
ah, so im not sure if this was already hinted at before, but the girls were literally already out of time.
kinda dramatic for her arm to literally just fall off
this does throw a wrench into their whole plan to save them though
also some babbling about stuff
so one last plot convenience later.
so yeah uhm...i get the strange feeling we've already seen this, but anyway, so this time all five of them join/share sophie's body now.
(though how their voices are different le shrug, just)
i mean we already had enough headache/funneh with just maria and mao, but now six in one is just
its the last episode though so we wont see much
a bit strange spot for the ed to play
well i think i've rambled on enough at this point
I mean, the ep itself, its a strange feeling, now that I've finished it of course it wasnt so bad, might even have been one of the better(?) eps, but fundamentally.
You know, it really says something when i finish and anime and like
I think if there's ever a s2 of this im definitely not going to watch it
To phrase another way, while like, individually the characters could have been fine, there's just too many of them, and the fundamental issue is just blade and the overall comedy stuff and every episode is episodic, there's no plot. The last ep having the last scene be literally that is just the whole thing, and I still remember blade being a complete idiot in the first ep.
Needless to say, I definitely got bamboozled by this. Cu and sophie and basically everyone just got shafted real bad
Like, at the end of it all it feels like, whats the point?
The most I could say is that you could just switch off your brain and watch the anime, but even then I'm not sure if thats a good thing or if I would say thats a good thing.
(If the score was any lower it would be 5.9)
EDIT: It's interesting, maybe its just me, but it seems that now that its ended a lot of people also feel that its mediocre, which is why the score actually seems that bad? Lots of people finished it, it wasnt bad enough to drop, but not good enough to give a high score either.
All I saw was people talking about the "good" stuff so.
So all Sophie's clones died but their souls got absorbed by Sophie.
Decent fantasy comedy show with some ecchi on top. Nothing much more to see here. Just fantasy school comedy and nothing more to add. I did
enjoy its comedy elements got me laughing a lot every now and then.
No way some of these mfs are saying this show was good, what are yall watching??? What other anime/media are you consuming to where you think something like this is good??
This is painfully average at most, pretty damn bad at least.
None of the animation stood out, most of it looked like powerpoint slides, barely any fluidity whatsoever.
The fanservice was mid at best, for a show this average, at least if they went all in on the ecchi, at least something would have stood out.
The story was just nonexistent except for those last two episodes that actually had a storyline, everything else was just a “What can we come up with randomly for these guys to do today?”
The more we let these kinds of shows become acceptable, the more lazy shit we will get in the future.
Wow, what a "plan" to let Blade fight all five of them at the same time... that should've been the very first thing they tried, but then they could not have stretched that plot over two episodes.
Not gonna lie, the show is pretty bad. The characters had potential, but they only did generic stuff with no real substance. Also I don't know why this is even tagged ecchi, there was barely any good fanservice. 3/10
I think this last part was easily the worst and most boring one. Other than that, it was a fun brainless show. The comedy parts where actually really well done, and the cute one's were blend in just fine as well.
