To get a better knowledge of the extent of studies addressing this topic, we conducted a scoping review investigating existing gender stereotypes and educational choices in STEM in that region. As expected, the number of studies discovered was very limited, despite our generous inclusion criteria. In these limited studies, however, we found ample evidence of existing gender stereotypes in STEM and their impact on career aspirations. As this scoping review focused only on high-school university students, we conclude the paper with thoughts on future work ideas to expand the target group as well as to use systems thinking as an overarching perspective to conduct a holistic examination. This could be achieved by including relevant actors within and outside the immediate context, such as parents, schools, policymakers, businesses, and organizations. Finally, the paper also discusses the impact and opportunities that come with digitalization efforts, which could be leveraged to increase women participation in STEM.

The research presented in this text evolves from a strong organizational platform, The Stage, that in everyday life prosper under a different name. By setting The Stage we attempt to convey some of the rules of the play, movements between actors, aspects of farness and distance in space, periphery and centre, mutual interest and goals as they are enacted in our discussions and meetings with various actors, props and quests. The aim of the text is to make visible how relationships between gender and information technology matters by employing ideas from feminist technoscience in juxtaposition with the design of technologies and political orderings. A further intersection of gender and technology is provided by a description of digital materials as objects of and resources and arenas for feminist interventions in innovative design. The results from the presented study indicate that feminist technoscience is increasingly accountable for the IT-based innovation systems that are progressing around the globe.

It is applied as a method to describe problematic inscriptions of gender in technology and as a tool for advancing more acceptable inscriptions of gender in technology. These analyses are based on the assumption that we can design technologies that do justice to gender. One critique on script analysis is that it does not engage with the emergent effects of design. The authors explore this critique with the help of two vignettes taken from their design research. In this article they ask: How to design for gender if gender and design are emergent? The authors present two design strategies, degendering design and undesigning design and propose a new approach to doing justice to gender in design. This perspective foregrounds ethics in the design process, in particular the accountability of technology designers.

We concentrate on the new modes of knowledge production of professionals and amateur experts involved in the design and use of open archives and wiki communities as a part of transformations towards participatory digital public infrastructures. Ideas of crowdsourcing, policies of open data and engagements in community-based cultural heritage influence participants’ visions of future ways of generating, sharing and maintaining their knowledge. The paper identifi es how the concept of attachments may help us analytically to understand the dynamics of multiple situated knowledges that are played out when people embrace digital technologies and open-data policies to connect past, present and future orientation of cultural heritage engagements. Keywords: knowledge infrastructuring, attachments, future orientation

In the Swedish Higher Education Authority’s (UKA) new quality assurance system, the integration of gender equality is one of several quality aspects that are being measured. This paper concerns a planned study with the aim to explore how feminist technoscience can contribute to challenging existing science practices, and a critical approach, while at the same time work as a theoretical resource for the integration of gender equality in Swedish higher IT educations. Feminist technoscience makes possible critical questions about scientific practices in both educational contexts and in work life, about researchers’ positioning, about consequences, and about power issues. Posing such questions is central in IT educations, since we live in a society in which digital technologies increasingly constitute preconditions for a working reality, and both repro...
