PILOT (searching for halmonie zine #0)

searching for 할머니 is my journey of reconnecting with my grandma and confronting my demons in korea and beyond. They traverse time and generations, jumping between my childhood in oregon and my first time visiting family in korea 20 years later.

pilot is my first prequel to an upcoming 12-part zine series. The pink, round character is my stomach. I describe my first panic attack.

What's included in this:

• a 35 page comic perzine
• 2 ad breaks, which aren't actually ads but just my goofy thoughts paired with goofy doodles
• a  dictionary with some translations, links, and random comments

Sept.21 2024 update: This is still free for now. I made physical copies but they didn't arrive in time for PZS (portland zine symposium). I still want to share my zine so anyone who came by my booth can access this, along with the mini zines that were supposed to come with the actual physical pilot zine.

Jan.12 2024 update: I'm planning to make the itch.io link free for a limited time. BUT i'm working out a sliding scale payment. This is later tho. Free now. The google slides link will probably be free forever. I'll keep you posted.
