The Society’s Annual Show is held under the Society’s Rules and Regulations. The committee may add, alter, vary or revoke any Rules and Regulations it may deem advisable. No exhibit shall be staged for competition until subscription or entrance fees are paid to the Society. Fees may be paid by direct credit, cheque, EFTPOS or cash. Entry Forms may be received via email, or mail. If Entry Cards are to be returned please allow time for them to be processed. The committee reserves the power to reject or remove any Exhibitor, servant or attendant, or any visitor from the Show without being required to give any explanation or being liable for compensation. The powers conferred on the committee shall be delegated to the Secretary and all monies won by such offenders shall be forfeited. NO DOGS, excepting registered Assistance Dogs or Dogs for exhibition/competition, will be allowed on the grounds. The committee reserves the right to postpone, and further postpone any Show from the advertised date, and may make any alterations it deems desirable in the schedule of prizes, or other show arrangements. The decision of the Society on all points shall be final and without recourse. NO GATE ENTRY FEE AND/OR MEMBERSHIP FEES WILL BE REFUNDED. Quantities, weights and numbers will be strictly adhered to. All persons competing and exhibiting in the Show do so at their own risk. No protest will be considered if person protesting has not an entry in the class concerned. The Head Steward of each section reserves the right to reject and remove from the ground any exhibit, which is in their opinion dangerous or objectionable. The Albany Agricultural Society Incorporated Committee will not be held liable for loss of or damage to the exhibitor’s property whilst on the grounds. Stewards reserve the right to re-enter an entry into a more appropriate section and/or class. Please ensure all vehicles are removed immediately after they have been unloaded and parked offsite in public parking zones. All vehicles parked illegally upon the grounds shall be TOWED AWAY WITHOUT NOTICE. NO ALCOHOL is to be brought onto the grounds.

PRIVACY STATEMENT: The information provided by you in the Application form is collected and used by the Albany Agricultural Society Incorporated to organise and conduct competitions and or exhibitions at the Albany Agricultural Show. We may publish details such as your Name, Photograph and Exhibit details in any Albany Agricultural Society publication or communication. Such information may also be made available to; and published by the media. Your telephone number will be shared with the Show Programme publisher. We will not disclose your personal information without your consent for any other purpose unless required or authorised by law. You may request access to your personal information and, if necessary, request that our records of that information be corrected by writing to the Secretary, Albany Agricultural Society Incorporated, Post Office Box 392, Albany WA 6331 or by Email: [email protected] REFUND POLICY: Membership – no refund Competitors – no refund unless recommended by the Section Councillor Please keep your receipt or entry cards as proof of purchase.

NOTICES All exhibitors must pay entrance fee to the grounds on Show Days. Exhibitors will please check individual sections for times that exhibits in the various sections must be in place. These times will be rigidly adhered to. Exhibits MUST NOT be dismantled or removed from the ground before 5:00pm on Saturday. In the event of there being no competition in any particular Class, prizes may be given if the judges certify to particular merit, however, they are specifically requested to with-hold prizes - even where there is competition if the exhibits are of inferior description, or not suitable for the class in which they are competing, they may be awarded a 2 nd prize. Prize money where applicable will be available at the Secretary’s office from 2:00pm Saturday 9th November 2019. If you are GST registered, you must provide a tax invoice to the Albany Agricultural Society to claim prize money including GST. All prize money not collected by Wednesday 20th November 2019 (or tax invoices not lodged) will revert back to the Society. Entries in Show Sections will be received by the Society’s office: 88 Cockburn Road, Albany WA 6330. Please check your relevant section for closing dates AS NO LATE ENTRIES ARE RECEIVED. PLEASE NOTE: The Committee reserves the right to restrict entries in any class should the need arise. Please submit all entries on the original application forms supplied with the Schedule for that section. For the Alpacas section, this is a requirement. All forms for that section MUST be completed

Dear Exhibitors, Welcome to the 2019 Zambonetti Transport Beef & Dairy Cattle Competition for another year! Once again we have some great sponsors on board who have donated some top quality prizes. We would like to make special mention of our major sponsor Zambonetti Transport for their continued generous support as our major sponsor of the Cattle Section. Please recognize our sponsors, acknowledge their generosity and support their businesses where possible. As in previous years we will again be running classes for commercial animals to allow participation of nonstud competitors. We are also pleased to be able to offer a number of Junior Awards: including an * Encouragement Award- Beef and * Encouragement Award- Dairy The recipients win Free Entry to the 2020 WA Youth Cattle Handlers Camp held in Brunswick. The cattle camp is a great way for young people to meet other young people in the industry, and learn more about cattle handling, structure and the industry in general. Our usual Friday night BBQ will be held from approximately 6:00pm onward. The meat for BBQ is generously supplied by Plantagenet Meats. Please indicate numbers for the BBQ on the entry form and pay on the night. The competition will start promptly at 8:30am Friday. Beef Breed Classes for 2019 will be in the following order: SPECIALTY, BOS INDICUS, BRITISH, EUROPEAN, INTER-BREED CHAMPS, COMMERCIAL FEMALES and STEERS, PAIRS, GROUP 3. Please have all cattle on grounds before 7.30am Friday. The cattle gate will be open from 6.30am. Please not the Entrance via Symers Street is a ‘non-cash entry point’. This means you must have your prepaid ticket for admission to grounds. The committee is dedicated to ensuring the continued improvement and success of an Albany Cattle Show. Section 312 - CATTLE

Entry Fees: $10.00 Per Animal (regardless of Number of Classes Entered) Including GST: Entry Fees capped at $100.00. Entries Close 4:00pm Friday 25th October 2019 at the Secretary’s office, Centennial Oval Showgrounds, 88 Cockburn Road, Albany. Entries for Junior Events will be taken at the show.

Late entries may only be accepted at the discretion of the Cattle Committee. Rules / Conditions 1. No animals allowed on the grounds unless competing. 2. Proof of ownership and Breed Society registration to be supplied upon request. 3. All animals, other than those in enclosed pens, MUST BE TIED AT ALL TIMES and doubly tied by halter and neck tie at night (including calves). Chains not to be used as wall attachment. 4. All bulls over 12 months MUST HAVE nose rings fitted and be led. 5. All females over 12 months MUST HAVE a nose restraint fitted and be led. 6. All breeders are requested to bring along Stud signs for the stalls. 7. All animals must be in good health when entering the showgrounds this includes: a. TUBERCULOSIS and BRUCELLOSIS Cattle for exhibition must belong to a herd which has a status of MN, TN, or to a CF herd with no history of Tuberculosis. Cattle from NA, SU, IN, RD, and PC herds may not be exhibited. Cattle for exhibition must belong to a herd which has a status of MN, TN, or to a CF herd with no history of Brucellosis. BOVINE JOHNE’S DISEASE (BJD): WA is a BJD Free Zone under the National Johne’s Disease Program. BJD is regulated under the Biosecurity and Agriculture Management Act 2007 and its subsidiary legislation. It is a requirement of the law that any person who suspects or has reason to suspect BJD in an animal must notify the Department of Agriculture and Food WA so that further investigation can be undertaken. Albany Agricultural Society will have a Bio Security Plan in place and a Vet available for consultation at owners cost. 8. PARASITES: Any cattle suffering from any kind of internal and external parasite and including lice eggs (dead or alive) will not be allowed to remain on the Showground. Any animals showing signs of disease will be inspected and, if necessary, removed from the grounds. 9. BVDV free- All cattle are to be tested and certified BVDV free entries must be accompanied by a certificate to confirm NEW!!!!!! 10. No entry fee will be refunded Bedding straw will be provided. 11. Exhibits must compete in the youngest class for which they are eligible. 12. All exhibits arriving at the show grounds must be identified with an NLIS electronic device and be accompanied by a waybill which is to be handed to the Councillor In Charge upon arrival. The PIC applying to each exhibit must be stated on the entry form. All animals will be scanned on Friday morning prior to competition. 13. Cattle entered are to be on the grounds by 7:30am Friday 8th November 2019. 14. All Exhibitors are expected to present for judging with animals that are safe to handle. Exhibitors and those supervising young/novice handlers are asked to ensure safe footwear and practices at all times. 15. Subject to number of entries received, some classes may be combined if appropriate. 16. Please note: Judging Guidelines • Animals to be judged as what they can do for their breed. • Animals to be judged as what they can do for the cattle industry. • For the senior female classes, the cow is to be judged as 75% and the calf at foot 25%.

Class 29. Steer or Heifer up to 24 months of age (Born between 1st November 2017 and 1st November 2018) (Commercial heifers may also entered as a pair of commercial heifers in the Pairs Competition – Class 27 ) * Please note that the commercial competition is to encourage commercial breeders to be involved in the show, and is not intended for herdbook eligible but un-registered or ex-stud animals. Class 30. Pair of WA Bred Bulls owned and bred by the exhibitor, of one breed. 31. Pair of WA Bred Females owned and bred by the exhibitor, one breed. (Open to pure or xbreed females from Commercial Led Steer and Heifer Competition Class 29 but must be paired with another Commercial Heifer, i.e. not a stud heifer and a commercial heifer in a pair).

32.Breeders Group of Three. Three animals, mixed sex, owned and bred by the Exhibitor, one breed. (not open to entries from Class 29)

DAIRY SECTION The Dairy Competition is open to both stud registered and commercial unregistered females Commences 8:30am Saturday 9th November

Junior Competitions will commence at approximately 9:30am and 1:00pm on Saturday 9th November. The order of competition will be advised on the Friday Show Day 8th November Section 313 - CATTLE - JUNIOR BEEF PARADERS

TBC, am Saturday 9th November Competitors are invited to compete in three age groups from 13 – 25 years. Conditions: 1. Beef Cattle Leading competition. 2. Beef Calves under 9 months old are also eligible and do not have to be stud registered. 3. All animals to be in good health. 4. Suitable attire and footwear to be worn. Section 314 - CATTLE- JUNIOR DAIRY PARADERS

TBA , am Saturday 9th November Competitors are invited to compete in three age groups from 13 – 25 years. Conditions: 1. Dairy Cattle Leading competition. 2. Dairy Calves under 9 months old are also eligible and do not have to be stud registered. 3. All animals to be in good health. 4. Suitable attire and footwear to be worn. Section 317 – WESTERN WORKWEAR NIPPERS LEADING

Start time approx. 12:00pm Friday 8th November Conditions: 1. 2. 3.

Open to children 12 years and under. Farm animal competition does not include cat, dog, pig, horse or alpaca. Parents can assist in the judging ring.

Section 318 – FANCY DRESS

Start time 12:30pm Saturday 9th November Fancy Dress Competition open to all cattle as well as the “Farm Animals” Open to young and old. Be looking your best at 12:30pm on Saturday! * Inter-Agricultural College or Youth Group Herdsmanship Award * Open to all Western Australian Agricultural Colleges and Youth Groups Students will be observed during the course of the show and will be judged as a group in regards to: 1. Cattle skills over the two day period (caring for animal, preparation, safety, cleaning up after themselves with equipment etc.) 2. Presentation of the students. 3. Helpfulness and courtesy to other cattle exhibitors and the general public.

Winners Receive the Perpetual Trophy for Excellence in Herdsmanship and a Prize, proudly sponsored by Landmark Albany. * Individual Herdsmanship Award * Open to all Individual Western Australian Agricultural College students and young people involved in the care and preparation of cattle at the Albany Show. Young people involved in the cattle section will be observed during the course of the show and will be judged on their individual efforts in regards to: 1. * Encouragement Awards *

Two Encouragement Awards will be presented. Over the duration of the show, all young people involved in the care and preparation of cattle, and those competing in the junior events, will be observed. They will be judged on their individual efforts in regards to: 1. Enthusiasm for their involvement in the cattle industry. 2. Willingness to participate. 3. Presentation. 4. Helpfulness and courtesy to other cattle exhibitors and the general public. 5. Care of animals under their charge.
