A message from Healthway Healthway is proud to partner with Albany Agricultural Society to support the Make Smoking History Albany Agricultural Show. The show is a two-day community celebration for people in Albany and surrounding areas that features a range of local artists, fresh produce and fun activities for families. Community events are a great place to promote health and wellbeing. This year’s show will see more healthy food and drink choices provided for people to enjoy throughout the weekend. At this event we are featuring the Make Smoking History health message to promote the benefits of a smoke-free lifestyle. Smoking remains high among some community groups in Western Australia including those living in rural and remote locations. Healthway is proud that the Make Smoking History Albany Agricultural Regional Show is a smoke-free event, supporting efforts to reduce smoking and provide a healthy environment for the Western Australian community. Presidents Report It is with great pleasure that I welcome one and all to the 2019 Make Smoking History Albany Agricultural Show on the 8th and 9th of November. It is the Society’s 124th Show in its 130-year-old history. As always, it showcases the agricultural pursuits of the people of the Great southern region and connues to bridge the gap between city and country. Thanks to our naming rights sponsor Healthways the Make Smoking History Albany Agricultural Show - which is a smoke free event, promises to be memorable with all your old favorites, including Sideshow Alley, accompanied by some new and excing exhibits and entertainment. The newly developed Food Court, will showcase some of the terrific local talent which connues to develop in the Great Southern. The new Foodie Friday will celebrate great entertainment with a range of quality food vendors. Schools connue to show their support, contribung to the two day programme. All the popular disciplines will be there this year including Breeds, lead, ridden, hack, show jumping, dressage and carriage driving. As you enjoy looking at the animals and watching the judging in progress, take the me to thank a farmer, many have been doing it tough, a simple word goes a long way. Thanks must be said to our Sponsors and contributors – without the ongoing support of these businesses and individuals our job would be made more difficult. Our commiee and volunteers who give numerous hours of their me through out the year to make the Show happen should also be congratulated and thanked. While we remember fondly our history and past Shows, this is the third year in our new showground back at Centennial Oval, which has been its home for over 80 years. I acknowledge the people behind the growth and the future of the Society and Show which connues to be bright. I hope, with this in mind the Albany community will get behind this years’ show and make some new memories as we move forward to our excing future. Rob Wright President
