HESC production requires high-quality materials and additives, namely chemical admixture type C (superplasticizer) to get high performance. This study aims to obtain a HESC mix design using a superplasticizer with the best performance. The 3 variations of HESC are made by adding a superplasticizer to a mixed concrete with the same dosage but from 3 different manufacturers, namely HESC-1, HESC-2, and HESC-3. Specimens performance consisted of tests for both fresh concrete and hardened concrete. The fresh concrete was tested by the slump, and the hardened concrete was tested by density and compressive strength tested at the age of 12 hours, 14 hours, and 3 days on cylindrical specimens measuring 100 mm x 200 mm which have been cured by water curing. Based on the test results, it was found that the average slump values in HESC-1, HESC-2, and HESC-2 were (cm): 64.0, 69.5, and 70.5. This shows that all HESC specimens are categorized as Self Compacting Concrete. According to the results of the density test on all specimens ranging from 2382 to 2436 kg/m3, all specimens are included in normal-weight concrete. With the initial compressive strength value of HESC at the age of 14 hours in the range of 21.0 to 24.9 Mpa, it can be concluded that all HESC specimens meet the requirements of High Early Strength Concrete, where HESC-3 is the best performance one.

In addition to the issue of cost, the difficulty of obtaining a proper source of material is another problem that has led to soaring prices for materials. In this regard, a study was conducted using local materials, namely zeolite as a stabilizing material added with waterglass as activating agent. The research began with samples of laterite soil and natural zeolite for XRD test (microstructure testing), and then testing for laterite soil’s index properties and engineering properties, namely Unconfined Compressive Strength and CBR value. The purpose of the test is to determine the correlation between the Unconfined Compressive Strength (UCS) and the soil bearing capacity (CBR) caused by adding zeolite as stabilizer material and waterglass as activator with increasing curing time. Laterite soils contain a brownish red iron oxide. The s...

The planning must be developed based on the Air Passenger Demand prediction. Direct Trip Distribution Model seems the most appropriate for this prediction. Direct Gravity Trip Distribution model was tried to be developed, calculated by using the iterative method. The research gives an indication that the Direct Gravity Trip Distribution can be developed and used. The general formula has been developed. The appropriate formula variables, incorporating the attraction coefficient, the attraction mass, the impedance and its powering value still need to investigate. The calculation method has been developed but needs to be refined, including the optimum and the accuracy indicator. The Direct Gravity Trip Distribution Model can be used either for Air Transport and Sea Transport.

To reduce carbon dioxide emissions, geopolymer fly ash which was one of the eco-friendly alternatives used to replace function of cement. However, in the field, fly ash as a mixture of concrete and mortar required oven heat which became the obstacle in making geopolymer. Therefore, another alternative was sought to replace oven heat, one of which is the use of hydrated lime. Besides, mortar research using geopolymer fly ash as a binder, generally used sand as the fine aggregate. In this study used laterite soil which was quite widely available in nature as the fine aggregate material. These alternatives was developed in this study with the aim to determine the strength of laterite mortar fly ash geopolymer and the effect of hydrated lime as a substitute for oven heat. This study used experimental method in the laboratory using alkaline activator Sodium Silicate and Sodium Hydroxide at a ratio of 2.0 with concentration of 12 M NaOH. Used 3 variations in percentage of laterie soil and hydrated lime, 70:30, 80:20 and 90:10 with sample size 5 cm x 5 cm x 5 cm. The results of the study showed that laterite soil and hydrated lime can be used as geoplymer fly ash mortar with strength 19.70 MPa.

The study aimed to determine the failure rate and mechanism based on FEMA 356. An RC frame with precast foam concrete acting as an infill wall without retrofitting (WTI) and an RC frame with precast foam concrete acting as an infill wall and CFRP retrofitting at a width of 36 cm (WTC) were constructed as two different types of examples. The results showed that whereas the WTI produced a maximum load value of 44.88 kN at push loading and 52.30 kN at pull loading, the WTC produced a maximum load value of 102.87 kN at push loading and 80.09 kN at pull loading. The diagonal CFRP retrofitting increased the RC frame's capacity to support in-plane horizontal cyclic stresses when foam concrete precast was used as an infill wall. The test specimen with the CFRP retrofitting underwent a shear failure that started with the CFRP strip debonding and ended with a shear structural collapse. The infill wall had an in-plane failure and a diagonal crack with shear collapse. This demonstrates that the maximum load that the RC specimen could withstand after being retrofitted with CFRP rose for each structural performance grade.

Furthermore, the heat that released by hydrated lime was used instead of oven curing. In order to produce geopolymer mortar without oven curing, three variations of curing condition has been applied. Based on the result, all the curing condition showed that the hardener mortar can be produced and exhibited the increasing of compressive strength of geopolymer mortar from 3 days to 7 days without oven curing.

Asphalt derived from Buton Island in Indonesia, also known as Asbuton, was located in the limestone bedrock. A large deposit of Asbuton could guarantee the supply of alternative construction materials. In that regard, Asbuton performance as an alternative material to several subjects needs to be analyzed. Therefore, this study was conducted to analyze Asbuton’s behavior as a filler in a floating column model as a soft soil improvement concept. Asbuton added to sand and gravel mixture as filler and waterglass as a binder. CBR samples were tested to acquire the optimum composition with varied curing days namely 0, 3, and 7 days, following ASTM D-1883, followed by a compressive column model test which was based on ASTM D-2166. Finally, the column applied to the soft soil layer to be tested in a loading test, and the results are then compared for each composition. The results showed that the granular material's compo...

The availability of this large sedimentary material makes this material need to be considered as an alternative to new materials in the geotechnical field. However, the results of laboratory tests applied to sedimentary materials show that the mechanical characteristics of these materials are not sufficient for construction materials. Therefore, it is very important to conduct a study on how to improve the quality of dredged soil by adding Trass as stabilizing agent to improve the quality of the mechanical properties of the dredged soil. This study aims to analyze the mechanical characteristics of the dredged soil stabilized with Trass. The research was conducted by adding Trass with composition 3%; 6%; 9% and 12%; respectively to the dry weight of the dredged soil. The curing time was applied for a period of 3, 7 and 14 days to analyze the significant bi...

This research was conducted at Hasanuddin University's soil mechanics and civil engineering structure laboratory. The model scale test was employed in this study. The geometrical speciation of the test box is 150 cm in length, 60 cm in width, and 100 cm in height. The X-block model was produced using concrete with a FC of 25 MPa. The X-block was divided into two types: X-block type 1 and X-block type 2. Tensile strength testing is performed on the X-block. The slopes are made of clay soil and have a slope angle of 70 degrees. The loading test was conducted in three stages: without block, with X-block type 1, and with X-block type 2. The loading test uses a hydraulic pump equipped with a load cell and LVDT. The tensile strength of X-block type 1 is 2.56 MPa, whereas X-block type 2 has a tensile strength of 4.35 MPa. The development of the type X-block design, which is used as a retaining wall material, has shown that it can effectively withstand landslides on the slopes under consideration. The slope safety factor rose dramatically after being reinforced with type X-blocks, reaching 2.73 for both X-block type 1 and X-block type 2.

The advantage of this beam is to increase the bending capacity of the beam due to increasing of inertia moment and plastic moment of steel beam section. There are three important variables which determining the capacity of the honey comb beam, i.e. opening space, opening angle, and opening ratio of the honey comb beam. This paper presents the behavior of honey comb beam which has firstly been optimized and has been done by using fast multi swarm optimization (FMSO). In the previous research, there are two cases of optimization considered. First case is optimization of opening space and opening angle with certain opening ratio, while the second case is optimization of opening space, opening angle, and opening ratio. Based on FMSO, the result showed that the second case of optimization has a better result than first case of optimization. Therefore, in order to validate the result of FMSO, the finite element analysis was con...

Considering into account the cost of relatively expensive, it is very necessary to try other alternatives that are cheaper and easily available around the construction site, for example the use of a bamboo pile as a soil reinforcement. Bamboo Atter is one kind of plant that grows abundantly in Indonesia and bamboo are very easy to obtain, and the price was relatively cheap. Bamboo does not require a long time to grow and produce great tensile strength. Tensile strength and compressive strength was higher than the bamboo wood is a material that is quite popular in the world of construction. Model testing is made of a steel drum tubes 60cm diameter with a height of 45cm ground soil. The soil very soft clay with high plasticity and swelling index. Tested by loading cell without bamboo reinforcement to know the dimensions of the ground failure at the beginning known reach 1,91mm. Pile bamboo made on actual diameter with varyin...
