El problema del crecimiento económico en la Europa moderna: del eurocentrismo al asiacentrismo y policentrismo

Abstract

La historiografía de los últimos treinta anos ha modificado sustancialmente los conocimientos sobre la historia económica de los tiempos modernos. Los enfoques basados en la “excepcionalidad” del proceso histórico europeo, o el “milagro” económico, o “la vía única de la civilización occidental”, vienen siendo confrontados. Este artículo pretende dar cuenta del estado actual de las principales discusiones, a partir de identificar las principales contribuciones de los historiadores económicos que revierten los grandes constructos historiográficos establecidos por la historia económica de los siglos XIX y XX sobre el crecimiento económico durante la Edad Moderna.
