Hi there 👋

I am Yuqing Chen (she/her). My first name can be pronounced as "yu-ch'ing". Friends also call me Iris.

I'm currently a Conservation Biology PhD candidate at the Department of Natural Resources and the Environment, Cornell University.

  • 🌊 My research focuses on marine population conservation and restoration
  • 🧬 I'm interested in evolutionary and ecological inquiries about shellfish populations
  • 🦪 I study eastern oysters and a little bit of surfclams
  • 👩🏻‍💻 I use population genetics, genomics, data science, bioinformatics
