Welcome to the pinocchio wiki! Pinochhio is a team peer evaluation system.

In courses where students are required to work in teams to complete tasks, the outcome of peer evaluations can be used as a scoring mechanism in combination with other scores or to scale scores according to contribution. It may also be used to gather information from students and provide feedback to students; determine team-members' contributions, and establish students' perspectives on their team experience.

Pinocchio caters for two types of users namely an instructor/manager (called an admin) and a participant/student (called a user). These are described in more detail on the user profile page. An admin has functions to manage users, specify teams, setup questoinnairs, analyze answers, view results and specify feedback to students. A student can complete questoinnaires, view summaries of questoinnaire results and receive feedback.

Results typically consists of averages, counts and other statistical manipulation of numerical answers given by the users. Reports that are generated from textual answers is based on occurrences of specified keywords, manual analysis of the text or automatic analysis using natural language processing and clustering of keywords. Reports are summarized over the entire group or per team.
