Visual journalists, graphics reporters or however they call themselves are doing an amazing job creating compelling visual storytelling around the world.
This list focuses not on their projects but on the people: How do they work? Who works in which newsroom?
-
To learn from each other. Many graphics people gave/give amazing insights into their work through talks, blog posts or through Twitter. Let’s compile this potential.
-
To get to know the smaller newsrooms. We know the big players, but what happens outside of the United States or the United Kingdom? Let’s get inspired by their work.
- Create a pull request (like this)
- If you’re not comfortable with that, create a new issue
- Or write an email to [email protected]
- If you add people, please make sure that they are ok with being added, if they don’t explicitly state their employer in their Twitter bio. If they don’t have Twitter, check their website/blog.
- Name of the newsroom. The list is currently sorted alphabetically, with reporters and editors sorted by their first name.
- Location and links to the graphics departments on Twitter | Website | Blog | Github
- Links to specific blog posts/videos/interviews that show how data vis people in this newsroomn are working. Links should give insight into the process of past projects, general principles and approaches to problems, which tools are used etc.
- Team members and links to their Twitter account who currently create charts/graphics/data visualizations in these newsrooms on a regular basis. Alumni, interns and fellows shoudl not be added.
