RDF-Extension

This project was originally developed by DERI as an extension for Google Refine that added:

  • reconcilation services for registered SPARQL endpoints

  • a graphical user interface(GUI) for exporting data of Google Refine projects in RDF format. The export is based on mapping the data to a template graph using the GUI.

The repository has been forked and updated to work with OpenRefine, next (updated) version of Google Refine. This extension is now also a part of LODRefine – LOD-enabled version of OpenRefine (github.com/sparkica/OpenRefine)

INSTALL & BUILD

  1. Pull OpenRefine’s code from repository: github.com/OpenRefine/OpenRefine

  2. Pull this repository into extensions folder within OpenRefine

  3. Rename this folder to “rdf-extension”

  4. Update extensions/build.xml file with two lines in build and clean ant task:

The two lines that need to be added are: <ant dir=“rdf-export/” target=“build” /> <ant dir=“rdf-export/” target=“clean” />

The buil.xml should then look something like this:

<project name="google-refine-extensions" default="build" basedir=".">
<target name="build">
  <echo message="Building extensions" />
  <ant dir="sample/" target="build" />
  <ant dir="jython/" target="build" />
  <ant dir="freebase/" target="build" />
  <ant dir="gdata/" target="build" />
  <ant dir="rdf-extension/" target="build" />
</target>

<target name="clean">
  <echo message="cleaning extensions" />
  <ant dir="sample/" target="clean" />
  <ant dir="jython/" target="clean" />
  <ant dir="freebase/" target="clean" />
  <ant dir="gdata/" target="clean" />
  <ant dir="rdf-extension/" target="clean" />
</target>
</project>

Build OpenRefine project using ./refine build and run it with ./refine run. If extension was loaded properly, you’ll se RDF menu in extensions bar of the OpenRefine window after a project is loaded.
