Hi 👋, I'm Brandon

Experienced leader, engineer and technologist

Some time ago I realised something incredible; I share some striking similarities to Tony Stark. We’re both passionate about technology, we’re both leaders, and we both love fast Audis.

It’s that passion I believe is key to success in any endeavour. It’s what drives us to learn, to overcome challenges, and to share our knowledge and experience with others.

As a developer in the early stages of my career I revelled in solving problems, finding creative solutions, writing quality code. I took every opportunity to learn a new language or technology which ultimately gave me a broad and deep technical skillset spanning the entire software stack from frontend, to integration, backend and databases.

I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have had some great leaders and mentors over the course of my career. It was one such individual that helped me to realise I had potential to be a leader. While exploring that potential over the past decade I’ve found it hugely rewarding and have come to recognise it as my purpose. Leading teams of numerous configurations of up to more than 30 people and various functions, I’ve developed a leadership style rooted in empathy and characterised by authenticity that helps teams and the individuals that make them up perform at their very best.

The combination of a strong technical background and proven leadership qualities make me an outstanding technology leader equipped with the knowledge and skills to define technology strategy, and to build the teams to deliver it. Creating a culture and environment where people feel empowered to do amazing things while actively supporting their personal and professional development is something I believe is crucial for success of organisations and people alike, and it’s something I excel at.

Continuous improvement and personal growth are key motivators for me. I am constantly pursuing opportunities to learn new things, be they skills, technologies, or topics to aid in thought leadership. Be it reading, online research, personal projects, or engaging with and learning from others, I strive to learn, grow and adapt on a daily basis.
