Check In

TODO: Turn this into a proper help page here.

NOTE: Check-in is currently very broken. No one is using it AFAIK, so fixing it is low on the priority list.

OneBody as of version 3.4.0 supports check-in using the following hardware:

  • barcode scanner
  • touch-screen computer or tablet
  • Dymo label printer

There are different ways to set it up:

  1. local printing, one printer per station
    • touch-screen desktop PC
    • barcode scanner connected via USB
    • Dymo label printer connected via USB
    • easy to set up
  2. remote printing, one printer for multiple stations
    • touch-screen desktop PC(s) or tablet computer(s) (check-in stations), each one having a barcode scanner connected via USB
    • separate desktop PC with Dymo label printer connected via USB (printing station)
    • Pusher or Slanger running for communication between tablets and printing station
    • a bit more work to set up

Setup

  1. Enable the Check-in feature in Settings.
  2. Set up check-in times and destinations (groups) by going to the Check-in Dashboard and clicking Times Setup.
  3. (Optional) Set up custom labels.

Local Printing, One Printer Per Station

This is the easiest configuration to set up, but it can be the more expensive if you require lots of check-in stations.

  1. Set up a touch-screen PC in a good location for guests to access.
  2. Connect a barcode scanner via USB. Any scanner should work as long as it emulates a keyboard input.
  3. Connect a Dymo label printer via USB and install the proper driver.
  4. Open Firefox or Chrome and point it to the check-in URL: http:https://example.com/checkin

Remote Printing, Dedicated Printing Station

  1. Set up a desktop PC with a Dymo label printer connected. Install driver.
  2. Open Firefox or Chrome and visit the URL: http:https://example.com/checkin/printer
  3. Enter the printer name and save.
  4. On a separate check-in station PC or a tablet, visit the check-in URL with the printer id appended to it: http:https://example.com/checkin?printer=welcome_center
