This repository contains sample implementations of Google Data Studio Connectors. Find more information on what those are and how to conceptualize them in this blog post.
These instructions will get you a copy of the collection setup and ready for development and testing purposes. See deployment for notes on how to deploy any changed versions you may derive to Data Studio.
These examples depend on Google Clasp.
npm install --global @google/clasp
Also, login to you Google account and OAuth2 yourself to clasp.
To get started using these examples, you'll need a Google Apps Script project. You can either create one manually at script.google.com or use clasp to do it for you.
You can then clone the project to get it onto your development environment, and maybe check it into your own VCS.
Run npm install
in the directories to set up typing where required.
There are currently no tests. If you feel like we need some, feel free to contribute; especially if you want to really expand the scope of these examples.
Save your changes to the project by executing a clasp push
. Then make the connector available to your Data Studio by clasp deploy
ing a version and referencing that in the Data Studio UI (see the aforementioned blog post for a step by step guide).
After configuring your connector, check it out in the Reports section of Data Studio.
- clasp - literally (because it will transpile any JavaScript >= ES6 and TypeScript)
Please read CONTRIBUTING.md for details on our code of conduct, and the process for submitting pull requests to us.
We use SemVer for versioning. For the versions available, see the tags on this repository.
