@jack-oquin We've put a freeze on Kinetic releases; I'm about to run the final sync before the initial Kinetic release. I'll only merge this if it contains a critical bugfix since it could possibly delay us while we wait for the buildfarm jobs to finish. Otherwise it will have to wait until the next Kinetic sync (in 2 months or so). Does that sound ok to you?

It does not matter to me personally. I only released it because @tfoote specifically requested it. He says it's needed by the TurtleBot software.
