How to use series?

I would like to add some series to my blog.

What I tried:

• Added taxonomies to config as in https://github.com/razonyang/hugo-theme-bootstrap/blob/master/exampleSite/config/_default/config.toml#L38
• Created a folder series and an index as in https://github.com/razonyang/hugo-theme-bootstrap/tree/master/exampleSite/content/series
• Added series: testingseries to a blog post.

Result:

Am I doing something wrong or is there a bug?

When I remove the series: testingseries from the blog post it works again.

I think it's a format issue. The series should be an array:

series:
  - testingseries
