This repository is an archive for Jupyter notebooks that implement linguistic analyses in the areas of semantics and pragmatics. See https://github.com/rawlins/lambda-notebook for a project that supports doing linguistic analysis of this type in a notebook. All of the notebooks in this archive currently require the lambda notebook kernel to be installed to run, and come from the lambda notebook project. For notebooks that appear in both repositories, the lambda-notebook version is the master.
The SVG MathJax renderer is highly recommended for notebooks in this repository. All notebooks are (supposed to be) saved pre-executed (whereas the lambda notebook copies are clean except for the demo).
Some examples:
- Continuations and Quantifier scope, implementing the 2002 proposal by Chris Barker.
- Intensional scope: three treatments of scope with respect to intensional items, building on the von Fintel & Heim lecture notes, work by Orin Percus, and by Ezra Keshet.
- Intro to neo-Davidsonian event semantics.
- Compositional DRT (notebook by Dee Ann Reisinger) showing how to implement the basics of compositional DRT.
