Hello,

I'm unable to generate a key for Dark Sky:

darksky blog

We are no longer accepting new signups. Please see our blog post for more information! We apologize for any inconvenience this causes.

Do you know if is there any alternative that I can use?

Thank you

I didn't know that :/ a quite fresh news (March 31, 2020). Good for them that they were bought by Apple, but as we can see this means trouble for people like us.

I will need start searching for alternatives then :/ If you have spare time for research then do so, I will then try to add support for a promising alternative.

I've used this one for another project:
https://openweathermap.org/appid#use

It worked OK, but only allowed a few calls per day.

A few calls per day it is not enough then :/
I would say to have this "clock" useful the API should allow for a call every 30m, i.e. around 40 a day (we can suppress calls at deep night).

A brief googling gives me this list to iterate over (a good start):

here https://stackoverflow.com/questions/61016689/dark-sky-api-replacement-recommendation they say OpenWeather gives 1000 per day with One Call API.

Added OpenWeather and their One Call API as a primary weather provider. DarkSky is now being used as a fallback if openweather api is not set. DarkSky support will be kept as a deprecated provider until the end of 2021 (unless Apple decides to change/extend the period or re-enables submissions for API keys).

Thank you.

I will test it by the end of the day.
