Loading failed for the <script> with source “https://example.com/js/plausible.js”. #1333

I am giving plausible a shot self hosted, and have everything set up including nginx, certbot and basic plausible config. I tried to add a snippet to 3 different website so of mine. One is a ghost instance, another is a nextjs site and another is a plain html website. All three of these websites are logging to the console the error "Loading failed for the <script> with source “https://example.com/js/plausible.js”." I placed the snippet within the Head on each of them, but I also tried switching to the foot as well. However when I visit https://example.com/js/plausible.js I am able to see the script fine as follows:
Two of these sites share a root domain with the server I am hosting plausible at and one is at a different domain entirely. Also here is the code I copy pasted from plausible:

Oh I see, it was blocked by my ad-blocker, when I used another browser without protection, the script was successful. |
