Build log: https://www.beekeeb.com/dactyl-manuform-mini-mechanical-keyboard-build-log/

What's different

This version is an implementation of the hotswap sockets from dactyl-keyboard along with the controller holder from compactyl, with some placement code taken from dactyl-manuform-tight.

Changes are

  • Hotswap support! Press fit for kailh hotswap sockets
  • Sligthtly thicker outside walls to accomodate for the controller holder
  • 5mm taller than the default manuform mini to allow space for sockets and wiring
  • Replaced the L-shaped controller bracket and supports at the top wall with slot-in controller holder
  • Support for TRISERT expanded to 136m3, option to switch to RUTHEX m3
  • Switching between 1u and 1.5u mods now has correct screwhole placement

Features

  • The use of sidenubs can be enabled. Sidenub should stay disabled if you use Kailh, and Outemu. If you use Cherry MX, Gateron or Zealios switches, you can enable the sidenubs.
  • Spaces for rentention tabs are added.
  • One key in the thumb cluster has been removed. Other thumb keys are also adjusted.
  • wire posts are removed.
  • A TRRS mount instead of a RJ9 mount is used.
  • A breakout holder board is used for TRRS and Controller
  • Screw posts are moved inside. The holes are designed for TRISERT® thread inserts 145m3 or 136m3 and RUTHEX m3.
  • The pro micro holder has been modified. Dupont cables can be used.

Issues

  • Press fit may be too tight for hotswap sockets

Generate OpenSCAD and STL models

  • Run lein generate or lein auto generate
  • This will regenerate the things/*.scad files
  • Use OpenSCAD to open a .scad file.
  • Make changes to design, repeat load-file, OpenSCAD will watch for changes and rerender.
  • When done, use OpenSCAD to export STL files
