This issue occurs in the new version 2.1.0. If the original extra field is ZSCC:00000, i.e. without any other fields and keys, then the citation update won’t overwrite the existing value. Instead, it will output

ZSCC:00001

ZSCC:00000

If the extra field is something like

ZSCC:00000

Publisher: Cambridge University Press

then the update will be normal:

ZSCC:00001

Publisher: Cambridge University Press
