Connection vs. Response timeout

I already read this thread and I couldn't find anything about "connection timeout" in specific.

We're looking to customize the connection timeout on the "XCPD Sender" connector. We can't find documentation online about that connector, so we're assuming it uses the HTTP Sender as base implementation.

The UI only has Socket Timeout. HTTP Sender says:

Sets the socket timeout (SO_TIMEOUT) in milliseconds to be used executing the method. A timeout value of zero is interpreted as an infinite timeout.

From our tests, this is used for the "response timeout", not "connection timeout" - which seems to be 60 seconds regardless of the value we set on "Socket Timeout".

• connection timeout: the max waiting time to establish the connection;
• response timeout: the max waiting time to get the response from the server.

The image below shows the "Connect timed out" and with the "Response Date" ~60s after the message was received:

The channel is configured with Socket Timeout = 30000 (30s).

Is there a way to set the connection timeout on the HTTP Sender or, even better, XCPD and XCA senders?
