Welcome to the Plant-Based Nutrition Chatbot, an open source project aimed at providing accurate, evidence-based information about plant-based nutrition through an interactive chatbot. This project utilizes video transcripts from the Nutrition Facts YouTube channel, founded by Dr. Michael Greger.

Nutrition Facts is a non-profit, science-based public service provided by Dr. Michael Greger, offering free updates on the latest in nutrition research via bite-sized videos. There are more than a thousand videos on nearly every aspect of healthy eating, with more added each week.

The goal of this project is to create an interactive chatbot that allows users to ask questions and receive information directly sourced from the extensive library of Nutrition Facts videos. This project is a also a way to explore new techniques for developing and evaluating RAG chatbots and build tutorials to help others on hteir learning journey.
