Type: Bug

Everytime when I open VS code it gives me a message right under the bar with "file","edit", "Selection" etc. saying that VS code on windows 8 will soon stop receiving updates and to consider upgrading my windows version. I have Windows 11 on my computer, so this message is unreliable. Also my terminal doesn't work at all, and VS code runs as an administrator so this can't be the problem. I did try to uninstall and install it again but same problem, terminal not working and that message with upgrading my windows

VS Code version: Code 1.79.2 (695af09, 2023-06-14T08:57:04.379Z)
OS version: Windows_NT x64 6.2.9200

The terminal still doesn't work and that message with upgrading the windows still remains

Does it also happen when you don't use "Run as Administrator"?

Please also check whether you have set the app to use Windows 8 Compatibility Mode.
