v2.1.1-alpha
This release is just a quick follow to up to resolve a bad bug with v2.1.0-alpha.
This release does not contain breaking changes. There is no need to export and re-import your profile or projects.
This release includes:
- Fixes the known issue with v2.1.0-alpha #199
- 👻 ‘Ghost’ members are now claimable after updating the app to a new version. The app will automatically associate your Public Key with your Ghost member profile upon launching the new version of the app.

- Fixed #168
- Fixed #169

Known Issues
#199 - the workaround is just to refresh the page. There will be a fix for this very soon.
v2.0.0-alpha
!! This release is a breaking one. You will need to export your projects from the previous version of Acorn and import them into this one.
Changelog:
- fixed #164
- fixed #157
- fixed #154
- a right-click menu now exists for text fields so that you can copy paste text into the app and fix typos
- fixed a bug which prevented priorities from being sorted in Priority View, in cases where some priorities had been deleted
- Multi Edit Bar icons now have tooltips for explaining what they are before you click them
Technical notes:
- Acorn now runs on holochain v0.0.165
v1.1.1-alpha
This release includes bug fixes including:
- Electron bug fix for Linux and Windows causing unexpected failure to launch the app.
- The Achieved Big scope Outcomes were showing as Not Achieved in Expanded View and were not turning green in Map View. This is fixed now and the Achieved Outcomes all are displayed with green background in Map View.
No migration of user data required for this version update
v1.1.0-alpha
Changelog
This release includes some added features for UX improvement, performance improvements, and lots of bug fixes!
This release is backwards compatible with the last release and does NOT require a new profile to be created, nor for Projects to be migrated to this version via the export/import process. 👍
Here are some of the highlights:
Map View
- You can now navigate through the Outcome cards (between parent-children and siblings) by keyboard using arrow keys.
- After creating a new Outcome card, the view will pan and zoom to it.
- Now you can duplicate Outcome cards by copy-pasting them in the Map View!
- The Uncertain scoped Outcomes marked as In Breakdown mode now are shown with red dashed borders in the Map View so you can easily find them on the map.
Table View
- Highest level Outcomes with children are now expanded by default (one level) for better visibility.
Priority View
- Tags are now visible in Priority View.
- Highest level Outcomes with children are now expanded by default (one level) in the Indented Tree View on the left of the screen.
Expanded View
- You can now close the Expanded View also by Esc key or by clicking on the empty space outside the card in addition to using the close button.
- Fixed the bug with adding and clearing Time for an Outcome.
First Time Users
- Freshly updated intro screens when you download and open the app for the first time before creating your profile.
Other Updates
Acorn also now has an updated app icon design plus a brand new landing page at acorn.software!
v1.0.4-alpha
This is a breaking version update, meaning that users updating from a previous version will have to first export their projects, and then re-import them into this version. (happily, this release includes a change that will mean this data migration is necessary much less often during version updates). Note that you can only import a project exported from a version 1.0.0-alpha or higher (such as 1.0.3-alpha)
Changelog
- Changed: With an Outcome selected on Map View, press the ‘Enter’ key instead of the ‘e’ key to open the Expanded View Mode for that Outcome
- Related Bug fix: the issue where typing ‘e’ in your search query on Map View, with an Outcome selected is resolved.Bug fix:
- Bug fix: Acorn would, after a while of inactivity, go unresponsive in terms of data-affecting actions and silently fail, due to a connectivity issue between the user interface and holochain. This is fixed now
- Bug fix: after entering a task in a task list, it no longer leaves an extra new line in the text input field
- Changed: clicking outside the ‘Achievement Status’ select dropdown will close it
- Changed: Except in the dashboard view for projects, and on the Map View rendering of ‘assignees’, all the places you can see other project members avatars, will display them as fully opaque if that user is active on the project concurrently, or half-opacity if that user is inactive at the moment. The easiest place to see this is in the list of project members in the upper left corner of the screen, near the project name
- Bug Fix: On Map View, a perfectly vertical edge could not be selected (to be deleted). This is fixed now.
- Technical: Holochain has been updated to v0.0.150, which includes important changes which will mean we can less often require users to migrate their data during version upgrades
