Moonlander Graphite 🚀

Graphite Layout

QMK implementation of the Graphite layout for the Moonlander keyboard.

Includes a magic key similar to Magic Sturdy to combat SFBs as well as some hacks to support German Umlauts on a US layout.

You can also find an Oryx-friendly version here.

This layout is compatible with macOS and Windows. The Umlaut and screenshot keys just work on both operating systems.

Magic

The magic key is reachable from the left thumb. Press it for magic. Hold it for shift.

The following magic combos are implemented:

If you press o for example and then you'll get oa as a result. Normally you'd have to do some acrobatics or press first o with your right middle-finger and then a with the same finger (hence the term SFB or same-finger-bigram). If you were to type a word like adjustment you can simply type adj⋆m⋆ instead 🤯. mention becomes m⋆i⋆ and so on.

The words.txt file can be used for training.

Multi-OS Support

Shortcuts will just work. This layout uses OS detection at runtime to select the right key combo.

When switching between systems, you will have to manually toggle between CTL/GUI. To do this, press the Umlaut key. That's left hand, right-most column, last row. There you can also switch between different layouts and enable QWERTY if you need it. The same key takes you always back to the main Graphite layer.

The right hand, first column, first key toggles CTL/GUI. You'll hear a small beep.
