We need to enhance the design, and user experience for the applications main frontpage.

We are going to switch from react-d3-library to react-faux-dom, for several reasons:

As we attempt to refactor to the react-faut-dom library, we'll need to remember to update our existing D3js syntax, from v3 to v4. The corresponding CHANGES.md, will be particularly useful, to understanding how to update various syntax, including d3.geom.quadtree.
