What does this PR do?
For
torch.distributed
to catch timeout issues, we need to actually spawn a point to have the timeout be called/synchronized. For things that matter (like large model checkpoint uploads), we can do so by adding await_for_everyone
call at the end.Pretty sure this fixes huggingface/trl#1403 and huggingface/accelerate#2236
