In general I like this idea, as I don't like the position of the command line to to be at the bottom of the editor. If I have decided to write a command, I likely want to have a floating command dialog in the middle of the buffer, or slightly off-center, with suggestions, because the state of the editor should always be salient instead of hiding at the bottom. For example, Arc and Raycast, the command palette is floating at the center of the screen, which feels very natural. |
