Roadmap 1.17: Reducing Verbosity

This is a list of tasks that should be completed before the 1.17 release. All of them focus on reducing verbosity in the users' code. Creating complex object structures should become much easier and less error-prone.

This list is tentative. Things may be added or removed if we figure that that makes sense.

There is no ETA—it will be released once everything is done. It goes faster if you contribute. Note that checked entries have a pull request where the work was started already.
