What does this pull request change?

This PR

  • updates all project dependencies to latest versions, including Kotlin and Gradle
  • fixes any remaining build warnings
  • ensures appropriate dependencies are listed as api rather than implementation

How is this change tested?

Manually and with existing tests.

Writing Kotlin Multiplatform tests
