Layouts are components that get loaded immediately after the FormQL component, this is where the HTML <form> tag is located. FormQL comes with one layout called PlainLayoutComponent which contains a single page.

There are more layouts being developed to bring functionality such as forms with multiple pages as well as wizard forms.
