This is fantastic! As a vendor in the space, the elimination of analysis paralysis will be most helpful.

With the sunsetting of OpenTracing (and OpenCensus), does this include archival of OpenTracing as a CNCF project? A sizable portion of the OpenTelemetry goal is to eliminate conflict and confusion about which to use. Does it follow that an archival of OpenTracing (or a collapsing of OpenTracing into OpenTelemetry) furthers that goal?

The idea is to archive it once Open Telemetry will get into the incubation level. We have a tight schedule for sunsetting of Open Tracing and Open Census so the hope is that this will happen soon

The formation and acceptance of OpenTelemetry is a major win.
