Podnotes Icon Not Appearing in Toolbar #55
Comments
feat. should help users that experience the player not showing in their right sidebar re #55
# [2.4.0](2.3.1...2.4.0) (2023-01-25) ### Features * add command to show player if it isn't displayed ([1e14808](1e14808)), closes [#55](#55)
Hi Jason, Happy new year :) I have just added a feature which should help you diagnose this issue. If the command is inaccessible, that means Obsidian believes the player to already be there. Would love to hear if this solved the issue. Best, Christian |
Good morning! I have tried this command but the PodNotes system is still not showing up. It looks like it's trying to at least show the button at the top of the window but that's all. I'll try to post screenshots to help illustrate. Thank you! |
Good morning! I have attached three screenshots showing the right-hand sidebar. The first is upon startup; as you can see the PodNotes icon is not showing and the PodNotes sidebar isn't available despite the fact that I am subscribed to two Podcasts. The second screenshot shows that the Show PodNotes command didn't show up in the command pallette. For the third screenshot, I bound the Show PodNotes command to the CTRL+SHIFT+P key combination and pressed it. Again, the PodNotes icon didn't show up and the PodNotes panel didn't show in the right-hand sidebar. However, the available icons in the title bar did change -- not sure if that helps with any debugging. I would also note that if I play a downloaded .M4A file with PodNotes manually by right-clicking on the file in the navigation sidebar, it plays (the audio is choppy but it still plays), however the PodNotes interface does not show up so I can't pause or stop the playback without exiting Obsidian. As a possible feature request, is there any thought to being able to play a video with PodNotes? That would help with vlogs since they are really booming in popularity. Thank you! |
Thank you for providing so much information! Really helps to get this nailed down. I assume you're using the default theme, yes? Any chance this is the issue? |
Good afternoon and Happy New Year!
I just installed podnotes and no icon appeared in the toolbar for me to use to access it. When watching the demo video you mention that it should appear after you've added a few podcasts so I added four. However, the icon still never appeared in the toolbar.
Is there a debugging logfile kept somewhere to provide you with any information to help debug this issue?
Thank you!
Very sincerely,
Jason A. Pfeil
