Ffmpeg process / memory usage #7608
-
Frigate running on a Dell laptop with Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS, 32GB RAM, i7 8750H I'm wondering why the ffmpeg processes behave strangely in my Frigate setup. After server restart, all PIDs are in the range of 600-700. However, after running some time, the ffmpeg PID will start growing, soon reaching big numbers like 740121 or so. If I interprete this correctly, the ffmpeg process gets killed and restarted for some reason, correct? Also, the RAM usage grows all the time, reaching 100% usage in three days, eventually it starts using the disk swapping. At that point, I typically reboot the server to give it a fresh start. Here, my question is, is this behaviour correct or is there something wrong? |
