Frigate not detecting events

Hi all,

Firgate 12.1 and Mosquitto installed in a Docker Container via Portainer Stack.

Frigate is not detecting any motion when enabled and if it does and it records the video is all broken up and no email notifications are sent. Restarting the Container usually fixes it, at least for a little while, which does not make for a very reliable system.

Logs don't show any motion detection, just the enabling of it.

Birdseye shows no issues with the video.

You say motion but I think you mean objects? They are different so it is important to be specific.

Logs don't show any motion detection, just the enabling of it.

I would suggest including a full copy of the logs. also, I'd highly suggest using the reolink recommended setup with http and not rtsp stream as those are known to have problems like you are describing due to problems with reolink cameras in general

Well you can describe what is happening. If objects aren't being detected then enable motion boxes and see if motion is detected. If objects are detected.

Otherwise, if you feel comfortable, you could take a screenshot of the debug view with an expected object in view and the bounding and motion boxes enabled and upload it here so we can see what is going on.

OK, did what you suggested. I get person detection boxes with an ID and % and red motion boxes but no events are listed and nothing is recorded.

okay, if you check the dashboard are the snapshot and recordings icons blue or grey?

I seem to have the same issue right now.
I switched to GPU object detection and now it doesn't register events at all.
The motion boxes do seem to work, but no objects.
I think it would have something to do with the object model used?
When I used cpu object detection for testing it did work correctly.
What kind of object detection are you using?

I am also having the same issue with coolgooseman. cpu detection works(it has the boundary boxes) but using the gpu doesn't.

Unfortunately I am experiencing the very same: CPU detection works but GPU seems to be problematic although the motion boxes are showing.

Frigate (0.13.2-6476f8a)

Same here. Using Coral TPU. Boxes around people are working, but not event / alert is thrown.

If you are using Frigate 0.14, you need to enable recording to see alerts in the Review pane. This is covered in the release notes and in the FAQ.
