[Bug]: Blinking/Dropping Feeds in Live View

Describe the problem you are having

I am having difficulty watching live view. Every 15 secs or so, the camera feeds will blink black and then restart. Also there are frequent times the camera feed won't start or will freeze.

This is how the new automatic livemode works. I have similar symptoms. As far as getting MSE under control, like you sometimes MSE closes stream for no reason. This works nice on desktop browsers but on ios it is a bit tiresome

When you say "live view", are you talking about watching a single camera or watching the Live dashboard with all of your cameras?

I was writing about the new live dashboard in 0.14. I am on MacOS viewing through Chrome browser. I also notice similar behavior on Android Chrome, but on mobile it is more often to cycle between the substream and main stream in the "blinking" behavior.

it is difficult to tell if you might just be describing the normal behavior as the camera detects motion / objects and then stops

If that is intended behavior, apologies and please close this as a potential bug. But, it was unclear that the "live" view to me was meant to only be live when motion is detected. Perhaps some advice in the documentation or if there is a way to enable a real "live" view while keeping motion recordings, that would be helpful to point me towards.

Have a look at the release notes for 0.14 beta:

Your camera images update once per minute when no detectable activity is occurring to conserve bandwidth and resources. As soon as any motion is detected, cameras seamlessly switch to a full-resolution live stream.
