I have recently come across the PharmacoDB Database and can appreciate that it is a fantastic resource. I was wondering if you could provide information or put me in touch with someone that can explain the calculation for DSS1 (arb.) that is included as a summary statistic for cell line dose-response data.

It is my understanding for drug sensitivity scores that DSS1 and DSS3 have output values between 0 (insensitive) and 100 (highly sensitive), whereas for DSS2, the value is between 0 (insensitive) and 50 (highly sensitive). This is evident in the article cited Yadav et al. (2014) and using the R “DSS” package. However, the DSS values reported for PharmacoDB appear to be between 0 – 0.5. Is there another step of normalisation that has been used to calculate an arbitrary value (ie DSS1 (arb.))? I have yet to find any information about further normalisation in the article Smirnov et al. (2017) which is associated with the database. Thanks kindly in advance.

Just following up because I can see that no one has been assigned and I am still interested in having my query answered.
