Checkbox "allow spaces" doesn't work

I'm using PS CC2018. If I check the box "allow spaces" then the output name has Hyphen instead of the spaces in the layer name.
By the way, what means "As layers, strip extension"?(to be selected under "name files")

@JoWa92 To answer your question, it means that if you name a layer "layer.png" it will remove the ".png" when it saves. If you just do "As layers" then it will keep the extension.

Additionally it looks like the hyphen thing is an issue ultimately with photoshop. The code allows for spaces, but photoshop seems to add them back in before the file gets saved.

Hi Hanna, but there is a way the hyphen is removed. I can share with you a video tutorial on how the hyphen is removed when saving images. The script is super fine!
