I became a Software Engineer because I love solving problems, coding business logic and automating the hard parts of life.
My professional adventures in tech started with a QA Tester job at an e-commerce product company. I then made my way to a busy digital agency where I tested mobile apps and helped out the UX team. After a few years in tech, I moved on to the 3rd sector to spend more time researching users and the ways to reach them. I also wrote lots of copy, volunteered and learned a lot about shaping policies.
My desire to make things happen is what led me back to tech, and to coding in particular. I'm at my happiest and most effective when I'm elbows-deep in making something that solves a real user or business need - preferably both!
When left to my own devices I spend most of my time reading, going to concerts, running, birdwatching, cooking elaborate meals and learning random and unmarketable skills.
I'm not much of a social media butterfly but you can always email me, find me on the NodeGirls Slack and if you're a fellow Maker looking to connect, feel free to DM me on the Makers Academy Alumni Slack.
