This repository contains some of my code for the geodesic project.
I’ve omitted the messier notebooks where I developed the algorithms
and fixed bugs. I can adjust the parameters in
Plotting_dot20tau_10Dec2020.ipynb
to replicate whatever those
notebooks did.
Amoeba_8Aug2020.ipynb
is where I implemented the Amoeba minimization
algorithm from Numerical Recipes.
Status_update_15Aug2020.ipynb
contains images of the various surfaces
I found in August.
In Plotting_dot20tau_10Dec2020.ipynb
, I find a quintic polynomial
that has an intersection angle of τ/5=2π/5.
GitHub doesn’t display the 3D plots, so try using nbviewer. But nbviewer fails a lot. I think it will work if you input the permanent URL, e.g. https://github.com/TheodoreEhrenborg/geodesic_public/tree/d97f2fa9546b7daebbf0d8a7d2d4cd8b18a70111 instead of https://github.com/TheodoreEhrenborg/geodesic_public/. Of course, replace the d97f2fa hash with the current version’s hash.
